For the next few days you couldn't help but spread preposterous rumours about Potter and the attack on Mrs Norris. ('He was planning it for weeks, heard him talking about it in the library to himself.') ('He can't help it, he needs to act out and do something rash or he'll just explode. Don't you remember the troll last year?') ('Heard he's the heir of Slytherin, there'll be no more mudbloods left in this school when he's done, Granger's going to be first to go.')

It was great walking round school, having people come up to me to ask what really happened. I love spreading rumours about people, it's one of my favourite things to do at Hogwarts. Even if none of it was true - as if Potter could every be the heir of Slytherin.
Though, there is always something wrong at Hogwarts. The problem this time is that damn corridor where Filch's cat was hung to dry, and it's starting to get a bit boring, being jumped by Filch every time I simply want to walk back down to the dungeons. He's started accusing me of stuff that is just so stupid and I've simply started ignoring him and walking away. At least it's not just me, he's interrogating Draco and my other friends whenever they're with me too. But Filch is a squib so he is inherintly stupid, he saw me and my friends at the Halloween feast so of course we couldn't have done it. No matter how much we wish we had now.
One morning when I was walking into the great hall alone - after sleeping in, leaving my friends to go to breakfast without me - I was stopped by Weasley. He stood infront of me just before the entrance to the great hall, his arms crossed against his chest and his beady little eyes staring down at me.
'What do you think you're doing?' He asked with an obvious hint of annoyance in his voice.
'Excuse me?' I replied crossing my arms as he did and staring up at him. He may have been taller than me but I wasn't scared of him, I did break his nose during my first year, served him right.
'Spreading rumours about Harry! People have been coming up to ask me why Harry would want to kill his own best friend all week!' He said on the verge of shouting as he lost his temper. I saw the tops of his ears start to turn pink and I scoffed, he is always too quick to loose his temper - even more so than I.
'I'm sorry but whatever do you mean?' I said with a fake and deliberate look of innocence on my face before smirking.
'Don't act dumb, Avery, just stop before -'
'Look, you little Weasle, I can say whatever I want, about whoever I want, whenever I want. If you want to try and stop me, Weasley, I invite you to do so.' I said before walking past him making sure to bang as hard as I could into him as I did. Leaving him stood in the entrance to the great hall all by himself, his fists clenching until the skin around his knuckles turned white then unclenching repeatedly.
As I sat down with my friends I was greeted with questions about what just happened as they had all seen what just happened. I went on to tell them everytjing: how I had been spreading rumours about Potter and his friends, how apparently many people had been asking Weasley about it and how angry he was about it. The last part earned quite a few laughs, especially when they saw Weasley skulking back to his friends.

Later that day I had Defence Against the Dark Arts, a lesson I had grown rather fond of for a while now. Ever since Lockhart had been making a fool of Potter each lesson by making him re-enact scenes from his ridiculous books I had been having a blast each lesson. It was hilarious watching him acting as a Transylvanian villager, a yeti, a vampire and today, a werewolf. Watching Potter get down on all fours on his desk and pretend to howl up at the moon was hilarious. Lockhart made him do it more than enough times due to his belief that he 'Wasn't putting enough gusto into it'. I laughed so hard I almost fell of my chair.
It was a shame when the bell rang and it was time for the next lesson of the day as it was, in my opinion, one of the best things I had ever seen.
The next day was the first Quidditch match. Gryffindoor vs Slytherin - Draco's first time playing for the house team. I was both nervous and excited as I woke up, got dressed and went to the great hall for breakfast with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. I was a bit shocked to see that Pansy and Daphne were still asleep as I was always the one who slept in, never them.
'There's no way we can lose Draco, I mean, we have Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones! They don't stand a chance.' I said as the four of us sat down at the almost empty Slytherin house table. It seems that everyone else was still in their warm beds, a place I half wished I still was. Draco sat down with his usual grin on his face and a his usual cocky attitude.
'No need to remind me, Y/N, everyone already knows.' Replied Draco as he took two slices of toast. A knife flew over gently, already carrying some butter on the end and started spreading it across the two slices of bread. Once it was done it flew gently back down the table and Draco started to eat happily. 'The Gryffindors are just giving themselves false hope, it'll just make the looks on their faces even funnier when we win!'
