(The new rescue dog is enjoying beating up my aussie. I am cheering her on, my aussie's a bish. Snowman is refereeing and ignoring all fouls. He understands.)
The loud screeching had Jared's fuzzy ears flicking repeatedly as his large lion stomped down the stairs, Knight's struggling hawk flapping away awkwardly between his white teeth. When he stopped on the first floor, tail swishing slowly from side to side, his attention rose to his brother and Palace.
They stood just inside the living room by the back door. The smell on them made his nose wrinkle, but of course, he'd known what they were doing. Unfortunately, their bond was that strong.
Another screech made his jaws tighten on the thrashing hawk in his mouth as he winced from the sound.
"That is your own fault. Know what battles you can win, brother." Palace stated simply as he walked past them to head up the stairs. Jamie's face was bright red as he followed after Palace, not saying a word as they both disappeared.
Let me go you bastard, I'm injured! Knight yelled for the millionth time into his mind, making Jared's lion roll its eyes.
You still haven't apologized, and clearly you heal way too quickly. Jared said as he lied down on the carpet by the television that was on, but muted. It showed the old Tom and Jerry cartoon, and of course, the mouse was winning whatever spat they had managed to get themselves into.
That's how it should be! Knight growled in his mind, flapping his right wing fruitlessly.
Jared flared his nostrils and sighed, settling his large head on his paws to relax and watch the show. He had, indeed, been hiding in the closet when Knight had run upstairs to try and find him. He'd also gotten a good amount of images of things the perverted chicken wanted to do to him ahead of time, so when he swung the closet door open and leaped at him?
Ow! Dammit! Stop chewing on me!
He didn't taste that great, anyways, but it was a habit for his lion when it had something in its mouth. He rarely ate as a cat.
You don't taste good. He stated before finally standing up and spitting Knight out. His hawk fumbled to the floor, his feathers soaked in saliva as he staggered about for a few moments, then regained his balance.
He tried to leap up and snap at his lion's nose, but Jared just jerked his head back and swatted at the annoying turd-brown chicken with a heavy paw, sending it somersaulting into the sofa to land upside down.
Knight shifted in that position, then slumped over to the side with a grunt.
"That's not how you treat your beloved." He mumbled as he rolled onto his belly, glaring up at him.
You were going to defile me against my will if I hadn't shifted. I believe the treatment I gave you was perfectly warranted. He stated simply as he got up and sauntered toward the bathroom. He desperately needed to brush his teeth.
He shifted mid-step into the restroom, but the second he felt fingertips brush against his back he spun around and let his lion return with a roar that had Knight stumbling backward, hands in the air in defense.
"Okay, okay. I got it. No touchy the angry kitty." Knight grumbled, scowling until Jared turned back around and returned to his human form.
His back still ached as he moved, but he pushed aside the pain and grabbed his toothbrush from beside the sink.
"You're really going to brush your teeth after tasting my awesome self? You didn't even get the good part..." Knight whined, making Jared pretend to gag before putting a healthy bit of toothpaste on the end of the brush and shoving it into his mouth.
