Molly had hoped that today would have gone much slower than it did. But the last bell of the day rang through her ears.
It was cold and drizzling, but she had decided to walk to and from school today, hoping to take even longer to get home.
She was dreading what she had to do once she got home, but she knew that it was necessary.
Her wet socks seemed to be the icing on top of the cake that today had somehow become.
If someone were to sit her down five months ago and tell her that she would be doing this right now, she wouldn't have believed it. Her and Paul were unbreakable to her then.
How stupid she had been.
She brought a trail of puddles into the house with her, but she went straight to the phone in the kitchen.
"Hey Molly."
Oh how she wished she could have appreciated how quick Paul was to pick up the phone, not even a full ring.
It almost seemed like things were back to normal on his end, which made Molly feel guilty for being the one who was distant now, but she knew that things weren't normal.
"What do you mean your breaking up with me Mo? What's gotten into you? I thought we were making this work." Pauls voice choked up on the other side of the phone line.
"For the love of God, don't you even try putting this on me Paul. Whatever's gotten into you is why this isn't working. So unless you're going to bring me in on your secrets, I'm done. This has been a one sided battle for too long."
Somehow, things had turned around and now Molly looked like the bad guy. She tried her hardest to remember the night when Paul told her that this wasn't her fault.
But she was broken, she had never wanted this to happen. She would have preferred that Paul was in love with someone else, it would be so much easier if he had just broken her heart instead of them both still being in love with each other.
She didn't know what to do with herself, she wasn't part of the dynamic duo that was once Paul and Molly.
She was just Molly now.
What did Molly like doing? She knew the things that Paul and Molly liked doing, but those things wouldn't be the same now. She hadn't been able to go to the beach in a month.
La Push was ruined for her now.
La Push with its' secrets and its' memories and its' Paul.
