The New Kid

The weekend was over and it was back to school.

*sigh*

I really didn't want to go. But I have to.

I got in first period and today was going to be all about the Plague... Oh joy.

I had just sat down when the principal came in with some boy.

"Mr. O'Malley, I have a new student for you. He just transferred from Oklahoma."

"Okay, Perfect. There's a seat right there." Mr. O'Malley said and pointed to it.

The boy went and sat down in the seat that was a couple rows away from me.

"Ms Huntington." The principal said and faced towards me. "Later on during lunch time, will you take Mr. O'Bryan on a tour of the campus?"

"Uh... Uh. S-Sure?" I kinda stuttered.

"Great." She said and walked away.

Mr. O'Malley smiled as she walked away then looked towards us.

"Okay!" He said while clapping his hands together and standing up. "Time to learn about the plague!"

***** a few hours later *****

***** lunch time *****

I was waiting outside the performing arts center when I saw the new kid coming towards me.

"Uh hi." He said.

"Hi..."

There was silence for a while.

"So uh, what's your first name?" I asked him.

"Oh. Oh yeah. Sorry. My name is Brandon." He said with a Southern accent.

"So uh, you're from Oklahoma right?" I asked him as we started walking.

"Yeah. Tulsa. It was nice there."

"Wow. I like how your last name sounds like Luke Bryan's last name."

He laughed. "Well that was actually my mom's plan. She loves Luke Bryan."

"Ha. Wow."

"Yeah. But I don't mind. He's a good singer. I like his music.... Do you listen to Country music at all?"

"... Yeah. I do... I like it." I said. "It's actually all I kinda listen to." I said and laughed.

I looked at him and he had a cheesy grin.

I laughed a bit.

"What?"

"Nothin'.... It's just that I think we'll get along." He said.

I looked at him and smiled a bit and he smiled back.

I looked back down. 

"So uh... Shall we continue with the 'tour'?" I said.

"Sure." He said and we continued walking.

 ***** Later that day *****

***** End of school day *****

It was already the end of school. Yay. Couldn't wait to get home.

I walked off of the school campus to go to the bus. I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to see Brandon smiling. I smiled back and he caught up with me and started walking with me.

"Hey. You take the bus home?" He asked me.

"Yeah. I live somewhat close to here. Like 5 major blocks away from here." I told him.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah... Why do you sound so shocked?" I asked him.

"Because I live kinda that way too." He said then looked at me.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"What street do you live on?" I asked him getting  curious.

"On Harbour Road." He said.

I stopped in my tracks and stared at him with my jaw dropped a little bit.

He stopped as well and looked at me. "What?"

"No freakin' way..."

"What?" He said getting louder.

"I live on Harbour Road..."

He dropped his hands from holding his backpack straps.

"Get outta here."

We both started laughing then continued walking.

"Wow.... What a small world huh?" I said.

"Yeah. Somehow smaller then Tulsa." He said and we laughed.

***** 45 minutes later *****

We just got off the bus. We talked the entire time like we've been friends since kindergarten. It was nice to actually have someone to talk to. 

I've never really had that before until Brandon came along. I felt a lot better about high school now.

"Well.... This is me." I said as I stood outside of my house.

He laughed and walked a little further and stopped right in front of the house next door.

"And this is me." He said holding his arm up and "showing off" the house.

"Wow. This is too weird." I said.

"Yeah. I know right?" He said and we both just smiled. 

"Well I'll see you tomorrow Brandon..." I said and waved.

"See ya." He said and waved back. 

I smiled and walked towards my front door, He still stood there watching me. I got my key out and opened up the door. I got in and turned to close it. As I was closing it, Brandon was smiliing at me. I made a nervous smile back as I closed the door.

I closed it and I leaned my forehead on the door and sighed.

Wow...... This was a loong and crazy day.

A/N: Hey guys!! Soooooo sorry it took me long to update this book. I've been sooooooo busy with school and church and things around the house. But I updated finally!!! Yay!!! Lol. So now you guys can read the next chapter of "UN-Pretty and Fat". 

Sorry it's a little bit short. I didn't know what else to write for it. But at least you get a chapter instead of being held off longer right? Lol.

But I have a question for you guys: What do you think about Lexi and Brandon? Do you think Brandon is crushing on her? Do you think Lexi is crushing in him? But Lexi likes Jesus right? 

Omg. SO CONFUSING!!! XD Lol. But tell me what you think guys!! I'd love to hear your ideas and such things!!
