A treasure trove of memories
Raided by the world's greatest thief
Unseen
Unheard
Untouchable
UnstoppableThe patient thief
Biding it's time
Entering when nobody was home
All of them out and about
To far to hear her scream and shout
To beg for help
From the ones that she helped beforeIt started off small
A few things here and there
She couldn't remember a word
Then it was a place
And then it was a face
The thief took it allLike a kid in a candy store
The thief took more and more
He took her friends
He took her family
He took her dignityHe stripped her of all she was
A freedom fighter
A sister
A mother
A gran
He took it all away
Piece by pieceHe left only scraps
Of a lady that once was
Left her with delusions of the dead
No memories in her head
And a body that couldn't get out of bedDementia
A cruel greedy thief is truly one of a kind
And he just robbed a loved one of mine
