Marie rushes towards the man's room, while sorting her hair which was in an uptight bun,Smoothing out her apron and finally making sure her final appearance was pristine. She knocked on the Boy's doors waiting for answer: "Sir? Your father requires your presence?" she waited for an answer. Then called again "Joshua?". She was then greeted by a teenager, with hair the colour of the sun. "Marie. It's 2018. Can you not at least just say Josh?" The teenager pleaded. "Anyways come in, I was sorting out my kit, for seeing 'father'" Josh replied sarcastically

Once Josh was ready to see his father he was taken through his housing by his 'servant' - Josh hated that phrase, This is a person for god sake not some object. I mean don't get him wrong he enjoyed it sometimes but other times he wished just to be treated like a normal person, sometimes - today was a day Josh was supposed to find his "true love", what he hadn't told anyone was that he was gay - like really, really gay, - and all of his true loves which were chosen were surprisingly enough all girls. And that was the thing he hated he had to find the "love of his life" and he couldn't even say to his friends or family that he liked guys? It was pathetic, he thought. Pathetic and weak.

Josh arrived in the ballroom - Jeez his family took this way too far - and looked at the girls, that had been 'hand picked' from the rest of the city. He didn't understand what was the big deal with the whole true love trope it was useless he would quite happily be single for the rest of his life. While these thoughts ran through his head, he continued his walk through the hall until he reached his father's side. "Father" Josh sighed, he hated this. What he hated more was the fact that his whole family was waited for him to pick a "wife" before he could leave his hometown. And as josh puts it "It's in the middle of fucking nowhere" So he was pretty much in captivity for his life. And he hated every moment of it.

"Joshua, you're late" His father replied his voice cool as ice and as smooth as silk. Josh looked at the watch on his wrist. He was late, but not by much so he brushed it off as him being in time despite his father's protests. " Now Joshua. Can you please go meet the ladies and see if any of these women are suitable for your liking." Josh's father spoke. So Josh did as he was told he walked around the spacious room looking anywhere but the group of females in the room, and thinking about anything but how hopelessly desperate they must be to go out with someone like him.

It had been several hours until Josh had picked a 'maiden' - as his father puts it - who supposedly made him want to grow old together with: keyword "supposedly". When he was taken back to his room with this new women on his arm, clinging to him like a lifeline. How clingy Josh thought, and this put a smile on his face. A small mischievous smile, "What makes you so happy baby?" The women said. Josh sighed the thought going away before it even had time to become something more. The grin that was once there, gone.

It had been several months, and the two of them were "hopelessly in love" well that's what everyone thought. However it was more like a one-sided love and the other side an act. And during this time, nothing had happened apart from the odd kiss. Which to Josh tastes like poison and not what he wanted. So when the times was right. He decided telling this girl that this, whatever this was. Wasn't the best. "Melissa? Can we talk?" Josh asked. He had been wanting this since a couple of months ago. But to Josh the felt like 'forever'. "Sure... What's up?" Melissa knew this wasn't going to end great but only after a few weeks? She was surprised. " I have no other way to put what I am about to say. And you'll probably hate me for this but... I practically used you." Josh began " And I know you were probably expected something else not a break up. Which is what this... Did you get that, Oh I'm rambling, I'm gay. Like really fucking gay. And me being with you isn't true to me. God I hope you understand. Do you understand?" Josh rushed the last part of his 'speech', there was silence. Then there was three words which killed Josh.

"I don't understand"
