I took a break, but had a burst of inspiration. So here we are...

Hurrying across the quad, it would be bad if the TA arrived late. Her eyes were drawn to the pallet of autumn colors bursting on the trees offset by the idealistic brick architecture. She wasn't thinking of the class she was rushing to teach, but her plans to see David later. She had been infatuated with David for months before he actually asked her out. Dating him was better than the dream which she had already revised to happily ever after.

Suddenly papers flew into the air as she collided with a body. Apologizing profusely, she glimpsed at the other individual quickly before averted her eyes. He was the kind of guy she would've crushed on if she didn't have David. Retrieving all of her items off the sidewalk including her phone, she quickly muttered "sorry" and scurried away.

She was busy and didn't think about David again until five o'clock. Looking at her phone she was surprised that he hadn't called, she went home to wait for him.

She ran to answer the knock at her door. It was the stranger she had bumped into earlier.

He was holding a phone. "I'm sorry."

"How did you find me?"

"I tracked my phone which by the way you have. This is yours. Unfortunately, I answered it without realizing it wasn't mine. I was given a message from the guy on the other end."

"David?" she asked shocked.

He nodded. "I tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen. He said he never wanted to see you again."

Her heart dropped. David's heart had been broken when he had been cheated. "He broke up with me?"

Nodding he said, "Maybe you can call him and set him straight. I'll help if it won't make it worse."

She couldn't be angry after all, she was the one daydreaming. Could one collision really change her destiny? She called David. When he didn't pick up, she left a long rambling voicemail explaining her innocence and ended it with "I don't even know his name."

The stranger said, "It's Ben and if it doesn't work out with David. If you'd like, um, I'd love to take you out."
