The first priority when shopping with Nina Sanchez is food. She had mapped out the best parking spot from the lot to the food court and had us in the foot court in no time. Both of us sat in the dingy food court at a small table that’s feet were uneven and crooked. A greasy plate of nachos sat before us causing my stomach to stir. Yes, I was hungry. Yes, there was a plate of perfectly good food in front of me. I was not though, going to eat it for the simple fact that she was a girl and I didn’t want to look like a pig. If she was a guy I’d do the same thing. Eating was something I preferred to do alone.

Nina must have been one of those girls that noticed stuff like that and pushed the plate toward me. She didn’t have a care in what she ate. “Eat.” Was all that she said. Just within the last five minutes I had discovered that she was the most maternal person I’ve ever known.

Picking up a chip I munched at the corner, “So you met Liam on the side of the road?”

“Yes,” she sighed defeated, “I didn’t know how to fix it myself.” Her curly head hung in shame. She was a very beautiful girl and it was easy to see her with Liam.

“You know, you seem quite strong and yet you can’t fix a flat? My dad taught me when I was ten.” I shook the straw in the soda I was consuming. The whole drink water resolution flew out the window by midterm.

“You know you talk about your parents an awful lot, I don’t.” she countered with a charming smile.

“Touché.” I defeated chewing on my straw. “But in my defense I’m an only child.”

“I’m not! I’ve got an older brother. He’s twenty-two.” Nina smiled with a look of something funny that had happened that I wouldn’t understand.

“What?” I questioned, being a female gave me the keen sense of snooping.

“Liam hasn’t met him yet. He just found out the other night.”

“Oh, you mean when the door thing happened from you and Liam doing the dirty-yeah I heard about that.” I mused.

“Doing the dirty?” Nina laughed at my innocence, to be fair most people did.

“Fine,  making passionate love to each other just a room away from where my boyfriend sleeps. Is that better? Or was it more of a rough experience?” to bring out this side of me you were either Harry or well Harry so far. I had a quiet reputation that made me forgettable and I didn’t really appreciate that, but high school labels stuck with you from day one.

Nina’s neck snapped back in laughter before standing the silent signal for me to as well. “It did get kinky later.”

“Stop.” I deadpanned feeling my cheeks flushing with the thought of Nina, who looked sweet and adorable, having sex with Liam who, again, looked sweet and adorable.

“Harry wasn’t kidding when he said the thought of sex made you uncomfortable.”
