"Barry Allen. Central City Criminal and Forensic Scientist. Kara is my partner and we have a case that may interest you Dr. Bishop."
Instead of replying with any normal answer the doctor responds, "The only thing better than a cow is a human! Unless you need milk. Then you really need a cow." I look at Kara for help.
"Walter," Olivia Dunham, the detective, calls to the man whose attention is solely on the severed body in front of him. "Walter," Kara says the Drs name and his eyes shoot up.
"Yes darling?" His eyes are soft like a child's. "Walter lets get cleaned up," Astrid pulls him toward the steps of the platform. "We will go get lunch with Kara and her friend," Peter tells him.
As the Dr and assistant disappear Peter turns back to Kara. "Long time no see!" His complexion still slightly pink from his fathers previous comment. "Apparently," Dunham remarks softly. Her eyes narrowed at Peter who immediately steps away from the Kryptonian and towards the detective.
"So what is it that you need my father for?" His question is directed at me. "Kara believes that he may be able to help with one of our cases."
"We will explain at lunch," she concludes with a smile.

"They... they have this horrible... pudding here. Butterscotch pudding on Mondays, it's dreadful." Dr. Bishop sits in front of Kara. His son sitting closest to the walk way and the detective sitting at the end of the table.
"It's Thursday," Peter replies not looking up from his menu.
"Oh...oh that's fantastic news!"
The waiter comes and takes our orders and a silence befalls us except the clanking of silverware produced by the Dr.
"Dr. Bishop it is my understanding that you..." I bite my lip as I try to say the near impossible out loud. Kara nudges my knee with hers. "You created a device that let you open up a portal."
Olivia answers with the trained reply of a secret agent, "that's absurd. Walter is a Dr. yes but a portal?" She adds a small chuckle.
"Walter," Kara brings her hands to the table top and places them on Walters. "I know that you and Bell made a device. Don't ask me how, but I know." Walters eyes twitch nervously as he try's not to break Kara's gaze.
"What I need to know," she continues, "isn't why you made it Walter but if you ever shared it. With anyone. And if Bell ever shared it."
"Never," he whispers. "And Belly never saw it. He wasn't here." The way he says here implies it's not of any context that here currently includes. "Thank you," Kara squeezes his hand before leaning back in her chair.
Our food comes at that moment and neither Kara nor the Dr seemed inclined to pick up the conversation again.

When lunch is over Walter dismisses himself back to the lab. "I hope she doesn't notice the $2,000 for the baboon seminal fluid I ordered. I hope I can recall why I ordered it..." he rambles as he thinks about Astrid.
When Dr. Bishop is in the cab Peter and the detective turn to us.
Their story parallels much with our own, but is solved quite differently.

Before we head back to Central City Kara wishes to say farewell to Walter one last time. Entering the old Harvard classroom Walter immediately meets us at the door.
Pulling her into a hug I hear him whisper something to her but I can't quite make it out. "Thank you Walter," Kara gives him a kiss on the cheek and with that we take our leave.
"I'm am so so confused." Kara smiles at me as we walk past the the entrance to the college. "I told you," she gives me a knowing smile, "but we got what we needed." "How?!" I think back on our conversations with the new cast and it seemed inconsequential.
"He told us no one else knows about his project." "Except someone named Belly.." my brows scrunch in frustration. She laughs, "William Bell is nothing to be worried about at least not for now. And we got some extra information."
"He told me that two alternate realities can be pulled together through breaches. If you, lets says open up a portal under STAR Labs then it will get sucked into timeline 2 where it will appear, but minutes, maybe hours, later something of equal size and mass will be sucked into our world."
"That would be catastrophic, because what's to stop it from landing in an occupied area or-" "taking with it people from the other timeline" she concludes, "They would be ripped apart."
"So," I look at the dopplanger of Supergirl, "if someone were to open a big enough breach they could theoretically forcefully combine two timelines." Neither of us speaks as we think of the note. Theia.

Returning home was a longer trip. Neither of us really wanted to return. We wanted to prolong the first few chapters of our story. The chapters where the author is forced to show the characters at their best before all the character development happens.
And trust me the messed up shit is coming.
"Barry," Kara waves a french fry in front of my face, "earth to Barry." She smirks as I shake my head.
Her first burger is gone and she is quickly working on her second. "So, you and Peter." I finish of my first. She gives me a quizzical look. "So, you and Iris." I choke on the burger.
Grabbing my water I sip on it before asking "How did you..." Iris and I never dated in this timeline. "The way you look at her is the same way Peter looks at me," her blue eyes shine, "a distant memory that is meant to be in the past."
We polish off our burgers and head back home.
