Amara Danvers
"Come, Amara! It'll be fun." Kieran dragged out his words, pleading for me to accept his invitation. "You are a free woman and since you didn't find your mate, you're really free." He nudged my bicep with a laugh.

Turning my gaze to him, I sighed. "That's exactly why I don't want to play spin the bottle, Kieran." I paused while shaking my head. After a few seconds, I continued on. "I don't want my first kiss to be with someone who isn't my mate."

A groan passed his lips and he huffed. "Amara Lee Danvers. You are an eighteen year old werewolf and an alpha." He smirked at me and crossed his arms over his chest. "You are going to play because you need it." The man emphasized on the word need.

"Do you want to be called the virgin Alpha because you couldn't kiss someone who  wasn't your mate?" He raised an eyebrow, knowing that I couldn't back down now. A low growl slipped from my throat as I gave him a glare.

"Fine, I'll go but only if you never say my full name again." He laughed like a child and nodded. Rolling my eyes, I continued to walk through the trees to a bonfire.

Every year since my tenth birthday, a group of friends and I would sneak out of the pack house and head into the forest. We usually messed around in our wolf forms, training or playing. However, this year one of my friends decided we should play spin the bottle. It was a stupid game but there was no way I could change their minds.

The bright flame of the fire illuminated throughout the trees providing light for us to see. Blinking, I turned to look at my friends beyond the fire. One could easily be picked out from the crowd. A girl with silver hair and dark eyes that turned a brighter shade of blue when in the light.

"Carmin!" I called out to the girl as I walked. The girl, Carmin, turned her eyes towards me and smiled. My heart raced slightly when I saw her smile but I didn't know why. It had never happened before today so I brushed it off, assuming that it was my anticipation for the game.

"Amara! Hey, I didn't think you were coming." She opened her arms to me, enveloping me into a hug. "Keiran said you weren't coming. What changed your mind?" She pulled back and looked into my brown eyes.

My body seemed to heat up from the closeness we were to each other. I laughed softly to cover up my nerves as I cast my gaze to the man I was walking with before. "We talked and I gave in."

Carmin shook her head with a light giggle. "Of course you did." She turned away from me and looked over to the group gathered a few feet from us. "C'mon guys. Let's start the game."

Breathing sharply, I tried to calm the wolf who clawed to be free. Shaking it off, I sat criss crossed on the grass beside Kieran and a friend of his. I glanced around, between all of the people there, as Carmin set a bottle in the middle of the group.

She smiled brightly and looked at all of us. "Alright, do we remember the rules? Once it's spun and landed, no one can change who it lands on." Her brilliant blue irises landed on me and a smirk grew on her lips. "You first, Alpha."

My heart pounded in my chest at her words. A light breeze blew as my hand shakily made its way to the glass bottle. The pupils in my eyes didn't leave the sight of the girl in front of me as my hand turned the bottle in a circular motion. The bottle whirled as I spun and let go.

Watching, I waited for it to stop. I was terrified of who it would land on. Slowly, the bottle stopped turning and pointed towards someone in front of me. My heart raced in my chest as my pupils turned upwards to see the shocked face of Carmin.

Her blue gaze turned to mine and she blushed slightly. I knew she didn't think it would land on her but it did and neither of us could change it.

A laugh sounded from my right. I growled in irritation as my eyes turned to Keiran. He nudged my bicep, slightly pushing me towards Carmin. "Go on, Amara. You can't spin again." He flashed me a grin before looking over to Carmin.

Taking a deep breath, I shifted in my spot and stood up on my knees. Carmin sat there almost frozen to her spot as I crawled to her. Instead of letting my nerves take over, I decided to get it over with so I kissed her the moment I was close enough.

My lips caressed hers while my hands cupped her face. Something ignited within me. It felt as though I was fueling a fire inside my body. Without realizing it, I deepened the kiss and moved closer to her.

"Woah there. My golly get a room." The circle of people laughed at another man's voice. Reluctantly, I pulled back from Carmin. When my eyelids opened, I could see that her eyes were still closed.

Even though I yearned for more, I knew she wasn't my mate. The wolf inside of me wouldn't be able to control herself if Carmin was. However, it felt almost natural and right kissing her as if i was meant to kiss a woman. After a few seconds of staring, Carmin's eyes opened and revealed emotions identical to how I was feeling.

Standing, I dusted off my pants and stepped back. I couldn't process what was going on with me except for the fact that I liked kissing her. Glancing down at Keiran and then to Carmin, I started walking backwards. "I-uh..." I stumbled over my words. "I have to go."

Before Carmin or any of the others could stop me, I shifted and ran. That game showed me who I truly was. I was a female alpha who liked girls and there was no changing that.
