As always, the noise in the bar was on the verge of tolerable. The crowds of people, more dense than usual, were buzzing off their previously and presently consumed alcoholic beverages.

"How about that guy?" Stacey pointed towards a tall guy, wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, black Dr Martens and a tshirt of a band that I had never heard of. When he smiled, a dimple popped in his right cheek. His sandy colored hair was perfectly quiffed up, and as I observed the way he ran his fingers through the sandy blonde tendrils; it was effortless for him to look this good.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not looking for anyone right now? I'm perfectly content on how my life is at the moment and I don't want to be held back by someone." I explained for the millionth time to Stacey as I wiped down the bar top.

"Held back from doing what? Watching all 8 seasons of How I Met Your Mother over and over again on Netflix while eating ice cream?" She smirked, knowing I had no way of denying it.

After giving Stacey the death glare, I turned back to look at the sandy haired guy again, but he was gone.

"Shame really, you would have made really good babies with him" Stacey sighed, slapping me on the shoulder and walking to the other side of the bar to serve a customer before I could scold her again.

It's true though; I wasn't looking for anyone. I wanted to be able to watch all 8 seasons of How I Met Your Mother repeatedly while eating ice cream and snuggled in my pajamas under my duvet, it was my favorite past time. But I didn't want to have a clingy boyfriend stopping me from enjoying said past time. I didn't want to be taken to fancy restaurants because what's the point? Who cares if it's a fancy restaurant or takeaway pizza, the food is going to be in my stomach either way.

Although the sandy haired guy and I shared a similar interest in fabulous footwear, I picked up my Dr Marten clad feet and went to the back for some air and erased him out of my head.

I pushed the back door open and stepped out into the cool, dark air. For mid-August, it was pretty cool out; fall seeming to be coming early this year. Closing my eyes, I let the cool air surround me and drown my lungs.

    "Tough night?"

I whipped my head round, only to see the sandy haired guy stood propped up against the red brick wall nonchalantly, an almost finished cigarette dangling from his slender fingers.

"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you" He chuckled, aformentioned dimple appearing once again on his cheek. Although one thing previously unnoticed, a lip ring by the left corner of his mouth.

"No, no, you didn't" I smiled back nervously.

He laughed breathily and threw the cigarette to the ground, momentarily trampling on it with his Dr Martens.

"Tough night?" I mimicked, nodding toward the trodden cigarette butt.

He laughed breathily again, looking down and playing with his lip ring at the corner of his mouth.

"I'm trying to stop" he smiled "It's not working out." And then he laughed again, and I found myself laughing with him.

"We all need something to help us get through the day. Some are just more self destructive than others." I smiled up at him, pulling the sleeves of my black cardigan over my hands and wrapping my arms around my body, a cool breeze passing straight through my delicate frame.

"So what's yours?" He smiled, pushing his hands into the pockets of his black skinny jeans, which I noticed had rips in both knees.

"Ice cream and How I Met Your Mother" I laughed, realising how lazy that made me sound when it was coming from my own mouth. But it was true; I was lazy.

"And I didn't think you could get anymore attractive" he smiled, once again playing with his lip ring.

"You don't even know my name and I just told you I'm a lazy ass teenager who sits in bed all day watching and rewatching all 8 seasons of How I Met Your Mother while stuffing my face with ice cream and you think i'm attractive?" I rambled, a little awestruck at how easy going this guy was.

I looked up to see his eyes staring back at me, the blue twinkling in the dim light.

    "Yep" was all he said.

"Cicely" I said, holding out my hand.

"Luke" he smiled, shaking my hand firmly. God could he get anymore perfect?

"Nice to meet you Luke, but I should really get back inside, some local band is playing and I have go make sure Stacey doesn't get too drunk with the customers" I smiled at him, turning back towards the door.

"It was nice meeting you" He smirked, a small smile playing on his lips.

I smiled back once more and headed inside where of course, Stacey was already doing shots with a couple of guys that I had never seen before. I resumed my station and started serving a couple of already tipsy girls, that if I had my way, would be cut off by now to stop either of them from getting too drunk and making a fool out of themselves.

Not long after, the lights went dimmer and 4 guys entered the stage, a few hollers were heard among the crowd and I had my full attention on the stage, wanting to know what the big deal about this local band was.

The lights went up, and my breath hitched in my throat.

"Hi we're 5 Seconds Of Summer" He said into the microphone before flashing a smirk my way, his blue eyes catching the light again before returning his attention towards his guitar.
