Y/N POV
Dio had left to speak with Pucci hours ago and I was beginning to get bored. I tried to read but when I found 'Dracula', I couldn't help but wonder if Dio had read it and laugh a little at that. Maybe it was a joke by one of the servants living here.
Hol Horse was not here either and the heat outside was too unbearable to truly enjoy the garden. It was if almost all of Dio's servants were gone and running his errands well almost all of them. Enyaba almost never left and the D'Arby brothers.
Out of those three I had only ever spoken to Enyaba and when we spoke it was rather strange and unsettling. It was as if personal questions were not a concept to her and she asked whatever she felt like.
Speak of the devil Enyaba walked into the kitchen just as I got out a snack.
"Good afternoon Miss y/n. Have you pleased Lord Dio yet?", she asked as if asking what my favourite colour was. I would be lying if I said her question did not make me almost choke on my food.
"Has he complained about me to you?", I asked as a response knowing she would dare not tell me of their "beloved" conversations.
"It's that just in case something were to ever happen to Lord Dio you should provide an heir to execute his vision. To carry the torch.", once again as if this was a casual conversation topic.
"I don't believe Dio is truly capable of death.", I said leaving the kitchen and hopefully that conversation as well.
I tried not to think so hard about what Enyaba said about providing an heir. She seemed to make her own plans for Dio he didn't always follow through with. Surely Dio would not want an heir that could possibly usurp him, right?
Haunted by the hag's words I wasn't fully paying attention to where I was walking until I met with a large figure causing me the lose my footing but was saved from hitting the ground by a hand belonging to that figure.
"Lord Dio would have killed me if you fell and recieved a bruise from falling Miss y/n.", the voice chuckled. I saw that it was the older D'Arby brother. I was relieved it wasn't his younger brother. His doll hobby sent shivers down my spine.
"No need to apologize, I was not looking where I was going, it was my fault.", I told him with a small smile hoping it showed sincerity.
"I do not believe we have truly met before. Surely you know I am a D'Arby and I am the eldest. My name is Daniel J.", he held a hand out and I shook it.
"A pleasure to meet you, Mr. D'Arby.", I smiled at him. He seemed polite enough and no actual harm.
"Have you ever played poker Miss y/n?", he asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes. I knew poker was his game, well that was really the only prior knowledge I had known about him.
"I have, although I must admit my skills at the game are merely average and come nowhere near yours.", I answered his question with a while lie. I played poker a handful of times but I always ended up with more than I began with.
"Let us play, if you are not busy. I'll go easy on you don't worry.", his smile as well as his eyes were mischievous but I took my chances and agreed to play.
We went into an unfamiliar room in the castle I had never been in before. It was better lit than any other room and had a round table in the center. This no doubt had to be Mr. D'Arby's room. Well not one he slept it but one he most likely spent most his time in. We took a seat at the table and he began to shuffle and deal.
