I'd Love To

"I finished the visual aids for our project," I said, standing in front of Emma's desk. She looked up from her book and pushed her glasses back into place. "And I'm pretty sure I know which points I want to hit in the presentation."

"Good. I'm almost done with the paper," she said.

"Mind if I take a look at it later? I want to make sure we're covering everything in both the presentation and the paper. Did you get that other source I sent you on Tuesday?"

"Yeah, I did. I added it to the paragraph about how mass paranoia in Salem led to even more gender discrimination. Uh, I'm busy today after school, but I can email you a copy."

"That's fine," I smiled, already making mental plans to go visit a certain waiter at a certain diner. "We should probably get together sometime before Monday to go over what we're going to say and who's going to say what."

"Yeah," she agreed. "How about tomorrow?"

"Works for me," I smiled.

The rest of the day went by quickly, and before long, I was pushing my way through the front door of the diner, the little bell above me drawing the gaze of a blue eyed angel.

"Just in time," he grinned as I approached the counter. Glancing at the clock briefly, he returned his gaze to mine and said, "My shift ends in fifteen minutes."

"Guess I'll settle for just a shake then," I replied as I sat on one of the stools.

"Coming right up," he said, before turning to the machine that made the shakes.

I was appreciative that the machine was out in the open instead of hidden in the back, because it allowed me take in just how nicely the uniform hugged Jason's shoulders and back. I watched him move fluidly to prepare my shake, mesmerized by the way his muscles flexed beneath the material.

All too soon, he was sliding the glass of chocolate goodness across the counter.

I pulled a bit of cash out of my pocket, adding in a few extra dollars to the cost as I placed it on the counter and slid it towards him in return.

"Keep the change."

Jason glared at me playfully, taking the cash and sorting the extra back out and sliding it back to me.

When I reached out to push it towards him again, he grabbed my hand and leaned closer over the counter. In a low, husky tone meant for only me to hear he said, "I prefer a different kind of tip from you."

I blushed, looking down at my shake in hopes that it would somehow reduce the fire burning on my cheeks.

I cleared my throat as Jason released my hand. Looking up, I was met by his smirk. Slowly, I took back the few extra dollars and put them back in my pocket.

As Jason walked away to check on a few other customers, I started to drink my shake.

While he was gone, a girl with pink hair came out of the back, retying an apron around her waist. She was probably taking the next shift, and knowing Jason was getting off in just a few minutes, I drank a little faster.

Thankfully, it was a small shake, so it wasn't too much to handle.

When Jason returned, he greeted the girl briefly before telling me, "I'm going to get my things. Care to join me for a walk when I return?"

"I'd love to," I smiled, finishing up my shake.

I finished up just as he walked back out, and we both shrugged on our jackets as we started to leave. Jason opened the door for me, though it only took him a millisecond to be beside me once we were both outside.

We walked at a leisurely pace, not really having anywhere to go.

The sun was out today, so the winter air actually seemed warm. Or maybe it was just because I was with him again.

"How have you been?" I asked, looking over to admire his dark leather jacket and the way the wind moved his bangs across his forehead.

"I'm... okay," he said, sticking his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.

"And your mom?"

"She's the same," he said, looking down at the sidewalk as we walked. "Let's not talk about that, though."

"Okay," I breathed. "How is living with the Tuckers?"

Jason cracked a smile, and I felt accomplished.

"They're great," he said. "They recently discovered I play guitar, so Lexicon has been making me play so she can drum with me."

"That's Holiday's little sister right?"

"Yeah, and she has great taste in music. Her parents are more punk, but she's got an old soul."

"I'm glad to hear you're finally having some fun," I smiled at him.

He smiled back, looking down at my hand before reaching out and grabbing it. He swung it back and forth slightly as we continued to walk.

Soon we came across a small park. There were no kids there since it was the middle of winter and would probably be dark soon.

Jason led me to the swings and we both sat down.

We were silent for a long while, but I was fine with that. We always seemed to communicate better without words. It was peaceful, just to be in each other's presence without needing to speak.

"I missed this," Jason muttered, his blue eyes trained on something insignificant in the distance.

"Me too," I breathed.

Jason looked at me then, his eyes soft as they scanned my features.

"Will you watch the stars with me tonight?" he asked hopefully.

"Of course."

A/N

DON'T KILL ME.

I KNOW I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A LONG TIME AND I'M SORRY, OKAY?

So here's the deal.

I have had massive amounts of writers' block on this story in particular over the last few months and I've actually been inspired by a few bxg stories and may move to one of my other Wattpad accounts for a while.

I'll probably log back into this account every once in a while to check on you guys and force an update out, or at least a monthly writing contest, but they won't be nearly as frequent.

I apologize, but I need to write the things that I'm motivated to write while I'm motivated to write them.

BUT, I think I can appease you guys a bit.

1.) I can post every bxb story I have partially written (there are many), so you have at least something to read in the meantime, even though they aren't finished.

2.) I can host a "Where's Anon?" scavenger hunt to see if you can find some of my other Wattpad accounts (there are many) based off of clues I give you.

What are your thoughts on that?

Lastly...

What's something you are afraid of? (Spiders, heights, being a disappointment (that's mine), the future (that's also mine))

Hope you guys are having a good year so far!
