Chrissy Costanza will be the main character, Ashlynn Grey:

"Ashlynn! Why don't you stop and have a drink? I just made iced tea, your favorite! " The elder lady, no more than 70 years old, called out from her old, dusty wooden porch out into the open field. But the field was not quite empty. All the way across the vast space was a girl, her long wavy dark brown hair tied into a pony tail so she doesn't mess it up.

"No thank you Grammy!" She calls back with the large mechanical device strapped to her back, as she tries her best to pull the plow across the land. "Just a few more yards!" Her grandmother shook her head in disbelief with a smile in her face. She sets the cup right on the small, old round antique table next to the chair that rested on the porch.

They usually had a large ox haul the plow across the acre, but because its old age, it had died just this morning. Ashlynn's grandmother and parents decided to save some of the meat for their special dinner tonight, as Ashlynn's parents took some to the local market, bones to be carved for tools, and skin for warmth as the cold days started to roll in. Ever since she was a little girl, if an animal could not tend to the work, she would have to do it herself.

Her back ached, her body was all sweaty as she pulled the large plow. Almost done. She thought as she panted, with the large harness on her small shoulders. Soon, a big, fat drop of rain fell on the top of her head, and slid down the side of her face. She simply waved it off as she thought if it as a bead if sweat. Just then, another fell from the now darkening sky, and she saw it as it fell just a few centimeters away from her face. As she stopped pulling the plow, she held out her hand, just enough to capture a drop of rain that was now quickening in pace.

She felt the wet rain drop fall on her pointer finger, and she brought it close to her face.Rubbng the rain drop with her thumb and pointer together, she closely examined it. She slowly moved her fingers to see what she was lookng for. The rain was not normal. It looked as if someone mixed glitter with the rain as it shown with sparkly specks. She knew the rain was magic, that can only be caused by the King himself. Everybody knew that if the King made it rain, he was feeling some type of emotion, and the Knights were in search for a being to be brought to he castle.

It could have been said they were looking for a human, but they could be looking for a werewolf, elf, unicorn, sky dusters, anything that they wanted or needed.

Ashlynn knew that she would have to get inside before any Knights pass by, and find that her family has been hiding from the city. She threw the harness off of her shoulders, and instantly spinted back to the house. She would usually have to put the plow in the shed, but this time, if she had put it back, she could be spotted by a Knight, and her prents had always told her they can never know where she was. They couldn't bear losing their daughter.

It seemed like forever until she got to the house. She jumped over the two steps that led up the porch, and swung open the screen door, that squeaked, before she pushed open the main wooden door. She slammed it shut with her back against the wood, and she panted trying to get the air back into her lungs.

He grandmother came into the living room to see that her granddaughter had come in on time. She lightly sighed and put her hand on her chest. "My word, I thought you weren't going to come in on time!" Ashlynn lightly smiled to her grandmother as she tried to catch her breath. "Now, head up upstairs and get ready. Your parents should be home soon." She replied with a sigh, as she pushed her weight so she can stand up right from leaning on the door.

Taking her time, she slowly walked up to the stairs as her grandmother returned to the kitchen where she was trying to tenderize the saved ox meat for the dinner. As she reached her bedroom, she grabbed a towel she had used a two nights ago, and slung it over her shoulder. She walked over to her bed, and pulled out a small bucket from under her bed. In it, it contained her shampoo, soap, an old dish washing sponge, and a razor. She walked out of her room, further down the old wooden hallway, and tuned into he bathroom. Closing the door behind her, she set her old towel onto an old rusty hook that rested on the rooting wood on a wall right next to the tub. She placed her small bucket of belongings right by the tub, and with a sigh, she went over the edge of the tin tub where an old rusty water pump was built.
