------------------------------------------------
It took everything Michael had to not throw his phone at the wall.He had called Luke 37 times. He left countless voicemails, each one getting more and more desperate.
Michael called Luke for the 38th time, fuming when Luke still didn't pick up.
"Hey Luke, uh, it's Michael. I'm sure you already knew that. I don't know why you're mad at me, but I really want to make sure you're okay. I... I don't want you getting hurt, Luke. Or hurting yourself, even. You're gonna try to get rid of me but it won't work, okay? If I did something wrong, I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry. But can you please just send me a text or something letting me know you're fine? Okay, I'll... I'll stop calling now. I, uh, bye."
Michael was torn between crying and going on an angry rampage. That wasn't really surprising - he felt that way a lot - but what if Luke wasn't okay? It seemed kind of selfish for Luke not to respond to his calls, which made him mad, but he couldn't help but feel extremely worried for the lad.
-------------------------
It took everything Luke had to not throw his phone at the wall.
Michael had called him 38 times now, and it was getting on his nerves. Couldn't he be left alone? Of course, he had never had this problem before, so he didn't quite know how to handle it.
He didn't realize he had been crying until his mum, Liz, walked into his bedroom. He loved her, but she always had the worst timing.
"What's wrong, baby?" Liz frowned. Luke looked up at her, and couldn't hold in his emotions anymore.
Luke sobbed, hiccuped, and shoved his face into his pillow.
"Oh, Lukey," Liz cooed, "what happened? I love you so much, honey, do you want to talk about it? I can go make you some tea if you'd like."
"I want M-Michael!" Luke cried into his pillow, hugging it tightly and refusing to look his mum in the eyes.
"Baby, who's Michael?" Liz frowned. She didn't want some boy hurting her son's feelings.
Luke built walls in his mind, regaining composure. "He's not important, mum."
Liz was beyond confused. "Well-"
"Get out, mum."
She nodded, sighing and walking out of the room.
Luke got off of his bed, and placed his journal back into the top drawer. He sighed, glancing and the blades that he refused to take out. Sure, he wasn't going to talk to Michael, but he still wanted to stay strong for him. Somehow, it made sense to him.
---------------------------
Michael was a wreck. He was sure that whatever Luke was feeling, he was feeling worse. Why did Luke leave him? Michael was so glad to have someone, finally, and he let Luke slip between his fingers. Michael was stupid.
It didn't take a genius to know that Luke wasn't quite.. emotionally stable, and Michael should have been much more careful with him. Maybe Luke was so insecure he didn't want to be with him? Michael wasn't sure, but he only had one thing that stayed on his mind.
He needed Luke.
That one thought remained in his head for hours. Michael simply couldn't function. Tears stuck to his cheeks, and he spent the afternoon staring at the ceiling of his apartment. He didn't want to move, unless it was because Luke was knocking at his door.
He missed everything about the lad; his hair, his vibrant eyes when he laughed, his new lip piercing - which shouldn't look so freaking good on him. Michael groaned, stuffing his face into the couch pillow.
"Luke, please come back." Michael croaked, hoping the air around him would carry the words to the blonde boy.
------------------------------------
Luke stood in his bathroom, silently staring at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes grazed over his skin, picking out the flaws that had been delicately placed all over his body.
Luke scoffed, thinking about what he did to Michael. Who did he think he was?
Luke had one friend (which might not even be true now), and he let him go. Someone had finally been there for Luke, and he threw it away? Luke was an idiot.
Saying he hated himself was an understatement. He despised every little insignificant part of his being, and absolutely loathed the fact that he left Michael.
Sure, he wasn't going to change his mind, because there wasn't anything else he could do.
The clock was ticking, and Luke couldn't latch on to the lilac-haired boy.
However, Luke's mind couldn't help but drift to him.
Luke sighed, walking downstairs.
"Hey Luke-"
"Shut up, mum." Luke cut her off.
He left before he could see the single tear trickling down her cheek.
