As a note - I'm not comfortable writing wrestler's wives, children, or families into my fics so for the sake of the story I'm going to have Ricochet's son be named Michael because I don't want to use his son's actual name in the story. Also for the sake of the story his ex's name is going to be Kate.

"Kate's gonna drop Michael off in about ten minutes then we can head to the beach." Ricochet said as he came into the living room and took a seat on the couch next to me.

"Sounds good," I said before moving my eyes back down to my phone to continue scrolling on Twitter.

A few minutes later the doorbell rang, and I instinctively took in a deep breath as my eyes moved to Ricochet.

"Hey, it's fine. She's going to have to accept that you're a part of my life." Ricochet said as he reached over and put his hand on my knee before he stood up and headed to the door.

He opened the door and immediately his son threw his arms around Ricochet, happy to see his dad for the first time in over a week.

"Hey, bud! How are you? I missed you this week!" Ricochet said as I watched as he wrapped his arms around his son.

I pulled my eyes from Ricochet and happened to meet the gaze of Ricochet's ex and the mother of his child who was still standing in the doorway. She scoffed and rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Why is she here?" Kate asked as she looked Ricochet.

"Michael why don't you go put your bag up in your room." Ricochet said to get Michael out of the room, so he didn't have to overhear this conversation. Once Michael was upstairs Ricochet glanced over at me and then looked at the woman he had spent several years together.

"Listen she's going to be around for a while." Ricochet said as he looked at Kate.

"A while? Oh like the last one? How long were you with her? Huh? A month? Two? Please, we both know you run away from commitment. She won't last more than three months." Kate said as she looked over at me.

I moved my eyes from her to look down at my lap. My eyes caught the diamond ring resting on my left hand, but not even knowing that Ricochet had asked me to spend forever with him seemed to comfort me from Kate's harsh words.

"I put a ring on it...so safe to say she'll be around for a while." Ricochet said as he smiled over at me.

The proud smirk on Kate's face faded to shock as he looked at Ricochet and then over at me. She opened her mouth as if she was going to say something but decided better of it and turned on her heal to stomp to her car.

Ricochet closed the front door and walked across the living room to sit down on the sofa next to me.

"Hey," he said softly as he reached over and took my hand in his, interlacing our fingers together. "Don't listen to her. She's just trying to get to you."

"I'm fine. It's nothing," I mumbled softly as I continued to looked down at my hands.

"I know you, babe. Come on, talk to me. I can tell you're hurt, let me help you." He said as he looked over at me and gently squeezed my hand.

"I just wanted her to like me," I said. "I mean I'm going to be in Michael's life and I thought maybe, just maybe, she would at least be civil with me for the sake of Michael."

"Well listen, whether she likes it or not you're going to be in my life for a long, long time. I've never felt like this with anyone before, and I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He said. "It may be cliché, but you're my one and only, babe." He smiled over at me before wrapping his arm around my shoulders and pulling me into his side so he could press his lips gently to the side of my head.
