SUMMARY: Based on the song "You Should Be Here" by Cole Swindell. You have the biggest moment of your career and it couldn't be any more perfect, except that there's one person missing. ANGST. SMUT.

I heard my music blaring throughout the arena, and I fell to my knees as the emotions overcame me. The referee came over to me, handing me the championship. I took it in my hands and looked down at the mix of leather, gold, and Swarovski crystals.

It was everything I had ever wanted. It was what I had been working for since I signed my developmental contract. It was why I packed up my life and moved to Orlando and left my friends and family behind.

I had climbed the proverbial ladder, and I was now the NXT Women's Championship. I turned and looked over at the former champion who gave me a little nod of respect at my win before she slid out of the ring to give the floor.

I climbed to my feet and made my way over to the turnbuckle, climbing to the middle one and raising the championship above my head as the crowd cheered. I stepped down onto the mat before going to the turnbuckle in the opposite corner of the ring. I again climbed to the middle rope and raised the championship above my head.

I took in the moment as I looked around the arena. Everyone was on their feet. Some clapping and cheering for me. Some seemed less than enthused about my victory. My lips curved into a smile when I saw a couple of young NXT fans in the second row with my shirt on as they jumped up and down excitedly.

I laid the title down on the mat and then sat down so I could roll out of the ring under the bottom rope. I picked the title up, draping it over my shoulder before I turned and headed for the ramp.

I stepped through the curtain and was immediately pulled into a hug by Hunter. It was at that moment that I let my guard down and I felt a few tears roll down my cheeks.

"I'm so proud of you. You killed it out there." He whispered in my ear before letting me go.

I looked up at him with tears in my eyes and nodded as a way to thank him for his words.

"You earned this one."

I was then pulled into hugs by several of my coworkers. Most of which were people who had been on the journey with me. They had seen the long hours in the gym and the sacrifices I had made. They knew just how special this moment was for me.

I pulled away from the last hug and looked over my shoulder almost instinctively. It was a tradition we had. After every match no matter if I won or I lost, Ricochet met me in Gorilla and sneaked up behind me to wrap his arms around me and spin me around.

My heart fell when I realized he wasn't there, and that he wasn't ever going to be there. The memories of two nights ago came flooding back through my mind and I felt more tears roll down my cheeks. But they weren't tears of happiness this time.

"You okay?" I heard one of the girls say and all I could do was nod my head because I knew if I tried to talk my voice would crack.

"We're all going out after the show to celebrate, okay?" I heard someone else say. Again I nodded, but immediately after I turned and made my way out of Gorilla. I limped my way down the hallway backstage, my knee being just a little sore from a submission move my opponent had put on me towards the end of the match.

As I walked down the hallway by myself, I couldn't help but feel the void that he usually filled. I missed the way he threw his arm around me and told me how great my match had been. I missed the way his lips curved into that adorable smile as he looked down at me. I missed the way he'd pull his phone out and want to take no less than twenty pictures of us. I missed the way he used to send the pictures to everyone he knew whether it was his mom or he posted it on his social media accounts.
