Shadows Within
Shadows suffocate love's final breath,
Family ties turn treacherously to death.
A table spreads venomous fare,
Trust shatters beyond repair.
Faces mask sanctimonious disguise,
Secrets reveal themselves through insidious eyes.
Their words sharpen daggers of deceit.
Betrayal forges itself in selfish retreat.
Their pride, a myth, vanishes in the air.
Leaving only shame and love that's never there.
No dreams are encouraged in raging storms.
Hearts crushed by their disapproving forms.
I'm lost, voiceless, in the darkest night.
Drowning in shadows, devoid of light.
Their presence haunts me wherever I roam.
Trapped in this painful home.
But soon, my soul will wither in despair.
Fading slowly in eternal December's glare.
In darkness, I'll succumb to endless pain.
A final whisper, engulfed in eternal rain.
