A few days passed since Sora's quirk examination and the boy has begun to get impatient, asking his mother if they can go and get him a quirk any time soon. Meanwhile, Henso stuck to his word and decided to check out the suspicious laboratory. Having left the house early in the morning, wearing a simple, brown trench coat and black, button up shirt, long pants and black shoes, the man looks more like a private detective than a police officer. "28, Tython road...this is it?" He looks between the card and the building in front of him, seeing what appears to be a recently renovated, small warehouse with brick walls and dark alleyways on either side. Swallowing any fear he might have, he saunters carefully towards the wooden door and knocks loudly. No answer. He knocks again, this time shouting at the same time. "Anyone in there!?" Henso takes a step back, sighing as he pulls a box of cigarettes from his pocket and places one in his mouth. As he lights the cancerous stick, one of the bricks above the door retract, being replaced by a rectangular camera that seems to be scanning the man.
A few moments pass before the camera retracts and the doors slide open, surprising the off-duty officer with the technology on display in such a seedy neighbourhood. Henso takes a cautious step into the dark building, walking forward with his hand on a small baton hidden on his waist. As he walks, he is suddenly blinded by a bright light all around him, causing him to panic until a voice calls out to him. "Now, now, there's no need to be frightened. You are Mr Sakkaku, correct?" Henso's eyes finally adjust to the sudden shift in light, seeing the figure of a rather thin man with gangly fingers, wearing a white lab coat. "That's me, what about you? Feel like introducing yourself or are you just gonna keep it a mystery and stick with the theatrics?" The lab worker responds with a sickly laugh. "Danzo. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." pointing his long, slender finger towards a room that one can assume he came out of, the thin doctor makes his way towards it, motioning for Henso to do the same.
A short walk later, down a selection of hallways and staircases, the two finally reach a sealed, metal door with a keypad to the side. "So, exactly what is it you people do here?" Henso's question receives a short chuckle in response as the doctor finishes typing in the code and the doors open, revealing an expansive area before them. White walls with glass windows allowing them to peer through, seeing what appeared to be a small testing area where children and adults alike seem to be testing their quirks on assorted targets. "I take it you're already well aware of what our aim is here, yes?" Henso nods without shifting focus and the people in the courtyard.
The doctor smiles, clearing his throat to gather the father's attention. "Those people down there, are the few that have already been given the quirk bestowing drug. While the quirks we have been able to give them are...Sub par, we have high hopes for your son." This gains the officer's full attention. "And what's so special about him?" "Before we go into detail, might I offer you a coffee?" Henso raises his brow at the offer, responding cautiously. "Sure..." "please, there's no need to be so cautious. The work you and the other police officers do for this city has earned you more than anyone can possibly repay you." A young woman with no hair and yellowish scales running along various parts of her body, wearing a similar lab coat over her clothing, walks up to the officer with a pair of steaming cups of coffee in her hands and gives one to the doctor who curls his thin fingers around the cup. "Thank you, my dear." She nods politely, closing her eyes in a reptilian fashion before opening them once more and handing Henso his drink. "Thanks." After he takes a sip, the woman smiles and saunters away.
Danzo takes a sip of his own coffee before motioning for them to continue their journey around the laboratory. "So, exactly how do you go about giving people quirks? It just seems like something you'd need a hell of a lot of funding for." Danzo lets out a hearty chuckle. "It's all thanks to our benefactor." "Uh-Huh. And who would that be?" The two pass by a room filled with what appears to be researchers. Each with a seperate job yet all working in collusion with one another. "I'm afraid not even I know his name. We generally call him Sensei, on account of the fact that he has taught us so much and continues to do so even to this day." Henso lets out a small hum as he stands in thought. "Sounds like a pretty smart guy, this Sensei." "Indeed. Now, I believe you have seen most of what I am allowed to show you. Your thoughts?" The doctor motions with his hand for the officer to share any questions on his mind. "Actually...I'm feeling a little dizzy. Do you mind if I take a seat?" "Of course, please, this way." Danzo places one hand on the father's back to support him, guiding him towards the seats. Seconds later, the coffee mug in the officer's hand falls to the floor, shattering on impact as his whole body starts to seize up. "What...was in that...coffee?" The doctor smiles wickedly as his free hand moves upwards, nearing the officers face. "What are you...?" "Relax. This will all be over soon." With that, Danzo inserts his long, slender finger into Henso's ear. The father of one lets out a short grunt of pain before going silent as his face twitches sporadically.
