Trust

     "Sendak." you snarl with pure rage and malice in your voice. His yellow eyes stare straight into yours as his eyebrows raise menacingly. You look behind him to see the blue lion. {For this part of the story and maybe more the Paladins will have their original lions}.
     "(Y/N), you haven't changed much, I see," Sendak sneered, grinning as his eyes shifted to Lance, whose mouth was wide open in shock. "And Lance. I had a fun time playing with you before. Want to play another game?"
     Lance quickly shoved you off of his shoulder and pulled out his bayard. He was trying to look fearless, but his trembling hands gave his fear away. "Move, Sendak," Lance responded, and started to shoot.
     You knew Sendak was too quick and shouted, "Lance, don't!" But, as it always seemed, you were too late. Shots were fired as you fell against the wall, and sparks went off all around you. Even though the shots were accurate, Sendak was able to dodge every one. During the chaos and noise, Sendak snuck out of range and was about to grab Lance with his robotic arm. This time, you saw an opportunity. You jumped, ignoring the pain in your side and let yourself be crushed in Sendak's grip.
     The only reason you weren't killed was because he wasn't trying to kill you. You'd been through worse. Why won't he kill me? As the breath was slowly squeezed out of you, you grunted, and were suddenly dropped to the ground. You gasped, taking in as much air as possible... then you hear a cry of pain. You turned your head to see Lance being thrown against the wall with a large gash in his side.
     Adrenaline and anger flowed through you. Pushing through the agony of your inside scarring and practically crushed ribs, you stand. You knew how risky the plan was... but it was your only hope. Sendak is too focused on Lance to notice you. I love it when his ego gives him away, you think, leaping up and punching him in the throat. Then, twisting in a weird, painful motion, you were able to slip a small dagger out of a sheath on Sendak's side. Quick as a flash, you rip the dagger across his real arm. He grunts in pain as you slice his leg and he kneels.
     Closing his eyes, he laughs, "So, you think that will beat me, girl?"
     "No, but it's enough to distract you. You can thank your ego," you smile, pulling an unconscious Lance into the open mouth of the blue lion. Thank heavens. I can't believe Blue actually opened.
     Realizing his mistake, Sendak tried to rise, but he was too late. You and Lance were in Blue, and she was ready to fly. Looking around the cockpit, you gently set Lance down on the floor behind the seat. No! He's bleeding.
     Take care of him. You hear, but it's only in your head, and it's not your thought. Take care of him.
    "Blue?" you ask, looking around you to see the controls rising and the cockpit lighting up. You take that as a yes. Out of nowhere, Blue rises and starts to fly, and you struggle not to fall over. Then, you hear it again.
Take care of him.
     You nod, and look at Lance to see that his gash was not too deep, but was still threatening. You tear off a part of your shirt, showing your black undershirt. You used that to soak up the blood and slowly sat Lance up.
Take over now.
     "Thank you," you say, running to the cockpit and taking the controls. You were in awe of how Blue flew, moving right in sync with your thoughts. She was truly beautiful.
     Then the Paladins' faces (except for Pidge) came up on screens around her. "(Y/N)!" They all shout, and Hunk asks the obvious question first. "Where's Lance? Are you flying Blue?"
     "Get out of there, you're not a Paladin!" Allura says, looking worried and angry as all the Paladins keep asking questions.
     "Blue trusts her," you hear a soft voice mumble behind you.
     You turn around to see Lance, awake, and slightly smiling as he spoke to the Paladins. "Lance!"
    "Here is proof. We can trust (Y/N). Blue trusts her," Lance admitted, and the Paladins were silent. Then you swerved... there were three Galra battleships.
