Gaius was born around 1st century AD during the Roman Empire. According to the Book of Acts, his life, family, and birthplace aren't recorded, however, it stated that he was baptized by Paul the Apostle along with Aristarchus of Thessalonica.

One day, together with Aristarchus, he taught the people that the goddess, Diana, isn't a goddess. In anger, the mob seized them and brought them to theater. According to the Book of Acts, it wasn't recorded or stated how he was released.

Gaius was venerated in Christianity (unknown of the branches).
