PUNISHMENT

POLICE DEPARTMENT;

"Report."

Just a word and the whole room is now covered in tension.

"We received a call from a concern citizen, sir." One of my men spoke. I kept my gaze forward. Not showing any bit of emotion.

"And then?" The general queried. My men took a glance on me before proceeding on telling the truth. "Chief gathered us all and we did a raid." Another one spoke out. "He made a reckless decision sir." Said by Taehyun.

The general isn't a bit of amused. "Why must you do an action without consulting any of us?" The question of the general is directed to me. "Sir, I didn't do it on purpose. But thinking of the previous incidents. I assumed that there is a rat inside the department. If I were to report and consult the phone call earlie before actually doing an action, they may have made something up to prevent getting caught." The general nodded but he is still disappointed.

"But you put your team on a risk. Have you took consideration of that?" He asked pointing me out. I nodded. "Yes sir, that's why I am taking full responsibility of what had happened." The general smiled faintly before getting something on his desk.

"I received an order from the higher ups. You are temporarily dismissed from your position for acting recklessly. And while you are suspended, they asked me if they could borrow you for a bit to do a mission outside this town." I have long expected a suspension but what I did not expect is a mission. "But si-." He cut me my protests off.

The general gestured for my men to leave and they did what they were told. The general took a deep breath. "This is an order. I cannot defy them." I gritted my teeth. "I haven't found her yet." I angrily stated.

The general's eyes softened. "I know. Sungjae, I think we should give up. It has been 14 years. I don't think we can ever find Sooyoung again." His voice is low and he was looking at a picture frame on his desk. "We just can't give up on her." I stubbornly stated.

"I have long accepted that Sooyoung is now on a better place. I think it is now the time to give up and move on. Don't you think so?" I lowered my gaze. I know Sooyoung is still alive. She couldn't just die like that, could she?

"Sungjae, son, it wasn't your fault. Sooyoung did it on her own accord. You shouldn't blame yourself." I shut my eyes tight close before releasing my breath.

"I'm still not giving up. I would accept the mission given to me but I promise to get back here and continue looking for her."

BACK TO THE ARENA;

The chaos have long ended. A pile of dead bodies are now being cleaned.

"Taeyang have called us. He wants to see us." Tzuyu muttered. They are all in distress not just because Hoshi died and Bambam and Jennie are on a critical condition. But because of the fact that Bogum and Vernon needs to face a punishment.

Irene started crying out loud. Telling how stupid and reckless Bogum is. "You fucker, now you're about to die because of me, how does you expect me to feel?" She muttered throwing light punches on Bogum's shoulder.

"Stop crying. At least you're safe. Ain't that the only thing that matters?" He mumbled looking straight on Irene's eyes. Irene bursts on tears again. "Why must you be so stupid and selfless?!" She cried out.
