CHAPTER 2

Finally. Chemistry was over. I can’t remember a class going by so slow. Allison talked to me, tried to distract me but the only thing that distracted me was Randy. Every time I looked around the classroom my eyes landed on him and for some reason he was looking at me too. Even if I wanted to talk to Allison I couldn’t, Mr. Jones kept looking at me to make sure I was paying attention. Well he failed. I didn’t pay attention to anything accept Randy. After Math we had lunchtime. Alli and I were the first one of our friends in the cafeteria. As we were looking for a table, I saw Randy sitting there all by himself. I felt sorry for him so I dragged Alli in his direction. Alli noticed what I was doing right away and she said: ‘’Hey if you wanna sit with Randy that’s cool with me, but you don’t have to drag me!’’ ‘’Shush. It’s not like I’m hurting you.’’ ‘’Why do you want to sit with him anyway?’’ ‘’Look! He’s all by himself and I feel sorry for him. Do you like sitting alone? No. So come on.’’ When we arrived at his table he looked at us and said: ‘’Can I help you?’’ I said: ‘’Yes. Do you mind if we will join you? We can’t find an empty table.’’ He looked around the almost empty cafeteria and said: ‘’But there’s almost no one in here..’’ I responded with: ‘’So not the point. Do you want to sit alone or not?’’ ‘’Ha-ha I didn’t mean it like that. Of course I would like it if you two would join me.’’ ‘’Good. So do tell, where are you from?’’ ‘’I’m from Los Angeles, California.’’ ‘’Oh wow. So that’s why you’re so tan. Do you have any siblings?’’ ‘’Yeah I have one brother. His name is Joshua.’’ Allison said: ‘’Is he just as good looking as you?’’ Randy smiles. ‘’Ha-ha thanks but yes he is. He has always girls around him.’’ We talked about music and our hobbies. After fifteen minutes our other friends joined us. They looked weird at Allison and me. I could see them thinking. Why would you sit with him? He’s new. We usually don’t talk with new guys, so why now? The answers were not so hard to figure. Nobody likes it to be new. So this guy wouldn’t like it either. It’s not like he is a disease or something. The others softened a little when Randy started to talk to them. As the rest was talking, I was looking at Randy. He has such beautiful eyes and such a cute smile. Oh gosh. No. This isn’t happening. I’m not falling for a guy IN JUST ONE DAY. Well it wasn’t even a day. It was four hours. From the four ours I only saw him at Chemistry. Let’s get things straight. What do I know about him? I know he is from LA, his favorite music band, his favorite food and color. I know he has a brother and that his parents still live in LA. That’s not much I know about him. And besides Phil still thinks I am his girlfriend. I was thinking that maybe I could try it again with Phil. No. I broke up with him because I wasn’t in love anymore. It’s not fair to not to break up with Phil just because I don’t want to hurt him again. I can’t do that to him and myself. The bell rung as a sign that lunchtime was over. Allison and Randy were talking and I was walking behind feeling excluded. I followed Alli to our next class, it was Math. I hate Math. It’s useless and boring. When I entered the classroom jealousy hit me. Alli was sitting next to Randy. I don’t understand why I was jealous. The last crush Alli had was an ass. He was very rude to her and humiliated her in front of his friends when Alli told him she was in love with him. They kept laughing at her for three months. And Alli said to me that she never had been hurt so much. And now she sits next to Randy. I sat down at the back of the room when suddenly a bag falls at the table next to me. I look up to see Summer. Summer is a sweet girl and a friend of mine. She was also at our table during lunchtime. She greeted me: ‘’Hey Tiara. Is it ok I sit next to you? Or is Alli going to sit next to you?’’ ‘’Hey Summer. Of course it’s ok if you sit next to me. I don’t think Alli is going to leave her seat next to Randy.’’ Summer sat down and grabbed her book. I asked how her vacation has been. She told me she went to France and that she met a guy there named Joshua. They fell in love but after her vacation there was over, they had to break up because she didn’t think their relationship could last because of the distance. I felt sorry for her. I can’t even remember when Summer had her last boyfriend. Class started and I tried to pay attention. Summer saw me struggle with the assignments. She asked if she could help and together we finished our homework for Math. Even though I was far away from Alli and Randy, I could still hear them talk and laugh. I felt excluded and dumped by Alli. It hurted.
