*Writer's POV*

*the morning after*

*paparazzi were all over Lea's house*

"Morning, honey. Did you have a nice sleep?", Edith asked while stroking her daughter's hair.

Everyone in the room was looking at each other.

"I guess so, I don't really know. I was having nightmares about something bad happening to Cory. I'm so glad I-".

Lea didn't even finish her sentence, something stopped her before she got the chance to.

It was the sound of the TV, it was still open from the time everyone got to her house.

Lea turned around and saw the headlines "Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada", "Glee star Cory Monteith died from a drug overdose".

As soon as she heard & saw those words, Lea's mind stopped working for a moment. She just heard the news using her boyfriend's name and the word "dead" in the same sentence.

"Mom?", Lea said, "Mom, is this true? It's not true, right? Right?".

As she was saying those last words, tears were running down her face.

What was her mom supposed to say? Words wouldn't come out of her mouth, she couldn't say anything while watching her daughter like this.

As Edith couldn't respond to Lea's question, Jonathan stepped in and said

"Yes. Yes, he is... You got a call really early in the morning and then called us, don't you remember?"

She wasn't crying, no, she only had tears in her eyes and a lost, almost empty, look on her face. She slowly got up from the couch, went into her bedroom, closed the door a bit, sat on the bed, picked a photo of her & him from her nightstand and hugged it as tight as she could. She was now crying.

Jonathat, Edith and the rest of the people who were at her house were standing outside of the door, looking inside and thinking of what's next, thinking of her. They stood there for nearly an hour because Lea stayed in there for almost an hour.

The house phone and her cell-phone were ringing non-stop, but she couldn't pick up either of them, she didn't have the strength.

Along with her, the world was crying too.

Fans on social media were expressing their sadness, posting things about him constantly, letting everyone know how much they miss him already.

"I can't believe my idol is gone",

"Can I wake up from this nightmare?",

"Bring him back",

"I guess God needed this angel more than we did",

were only a few of the things fans, and other people, were writing about Cory.

Fans weren't the only ones who were epxressing their sadness. Celebrities all over the world were doing the same too.

But, as always, along with all the love comes the hate.

There was this group of people who was saying really hurtful and offensive things not only about him, but about her too.

All of Lea's friends and family was trying to keep her away from it, so they closed the TV and took away her laptop, but they couldn't find her phone. She had it with her, in the room.

She had now lied down on her bed, scrolling through all the photos and videos on her phone. She was smiling, but she was mostly crying.

*a few hours later. in the afternoon*

The phones kept ringing, but nobody was picking them up. Until...

"Hello?", Lea answered with a trembling voice.

"Hey, sweety. It's me, Kate. Can you talk?".

"Kate? Oh God, it's so nice hearing your voice", Lea said.

"Aww, how are you feeling?", Kate asked her.

"I have no idea. I just don't know...".

"I have an idea, why don't you come stay at my house for a while? Until you feel ready to go back to your place and deal with everything? Bring all the friends and family you want with you".

"You'd really do that for me?", Lea asked Kate.

"In a heartbeat", Kate replied.

And so it happened.

Lea moved to Kate Hudson's house to get away from the world, and mostly the paparazzi that had taken over her house.

"Where are you going?", Lea asked Kate when she arrived at her house.

"This will be your house for a while, not mine", she repled while giving her a key.

"What is that? What are you-".

"Stay here. Calm down and be safe. Take all the time you need to process everything.", Kate said. "What matters right now is you".

The two women hugged and said theyr goodbyes, for now,

"We'll be in touch, sweetie. Take care", Kate said while getting into her car.

"Thank you..", Lea replied.

That night Lea didn't do anything other than sit on the couch in her pjs, watching her favorite movies with her friends and family.

"Funny Girl". That was the first movie they all watched that night. The first and also the last, before Lea finally fell asleep..

She kept waking up through the night from all the nightmares, but she did get a few good hours of sleep, for the first time since she found about about Cory's passing.

Whenever she was waking up, she couldn't help but think about Kate and what she had done for her.

It was really late, around 4am or so, when she decided to call her. She knew it was late, but she felt the need to do it.

"Hello? "I'm so sorry for calling this late, but I-",

"Don't appologize. Are you better? Even a little bit?", Kate asked her.

"I don't know, I guess so.. And I have you to thank for that. I felt the need to call and say thank you one more time".

"I'd do more if I could", Kate said.

"I love you, Kate. Thank you for being my friend.".

"Thank you for being my friend. Take care", she replied while dropping a few tears, "Goodnight".

"Goodnight".

The two ladies wished each other a good night and went back to sleep.

The rest of the night went pretty okay for our girl, Lea. She slept through the entire night.

Good because she needed a good rest.
