Chapter 1

"Eva! Eva! Eva!" Livi came running into the room.

"What?" I said being to focused on the inventory I was doing.

"They came!" She shrieked.

I just rolled my eyes because I knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Oh, c'mon! You know it may be fun!" she pleaded.

"Yeah. It may be fun if Mr. I'm-Everything wasn't going to attend." I scoffed.

"You don't even have to associate with him. You also never know if you could be the one he chooses." she said.

"Why would he go for me if he could have any girl that he wants?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Because you are one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen in my life." Our friend Harry walked in.

He's been trying to get with me for the past three years. I just don't date and I plan to keep it that way until I'm ready to settle down and leave my precious bookstore.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes and go back to inventory.

"We're going dress shopping after we close! and no complaining!" Livi said as she walked upstairs.

I rolled my eyes and just got to work.

"Evanjuleene." Harry said.

"What?" I just wasn't in the mood to talk.

"Be nice to Livi. She's only being nice and excited."

"You know, you and Livi would make a very cute couple." I suggested.

"But there's no one that compares to you." he whispered.

"I'm sorry to say this Harry, but you are friend zoned by me." I looked at him with sympathy.

"I will leave you alone with trying to date you if you do one thing for me." he said with sadness in his eyes.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"Give me one kiss on the lips and I will leave you alone." he proposed.

I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. he looked completely serious.

"Fine." I said. it will be worth it after.

I walk up to him and stand on my tip toes and press my lips to his in a short kiss. I pulled back and he sighed with content.

"Bye Harry." I said.

"Bye Eva." he said and went upstairs to hang with Livi.

By then it was closing time.
