I slowly walk up the stairs to try and avoid going shopping for this stupid ball.

I almost get to my room and am half way opened the door when I hear and tsk sound. Dang it... She caught me.

"Get your little booty out here this instant. Don't think that you can skip out from this. You'll have to do it eventually, and then you'll get stuck with a horrible dress that will stick out like a sore thumb and draw more attention to yourself than you want." Livi tapped her foot with her arms crossed. I could see Harry standing at the end of the hallway leaning against the wall. He had a smirk on his face.

"Ugh! Why do you have to be right all the damn time?" I look at my best friend.

"'Cause I do. Now you better be downstairs in the next five minutes or I will come drag your hiney to the store myself and make sure the prince notices you." She smirked.

I looked at her with disbelief. How dare she. She just turned around on her heel and skipped down the hallway and to the bookstore I'm assuming.

Ugh. Might as well get this over with. I throw on my flip flops and head downstairs to a very excited talking girl that I call my best friend.

"Can I just read while you shop?" I pleaded.

"Nope!" she popped the p.

"fine." i grumbled under my breath.

"Let's go!" and I was dragged out of my safe haven into a place called the real world.

-----------------------------------------------

So Livi had found her dress, shoes, and mask for that matter. She had tried on this beautiful tiffany blue dress that was tight around her waist and was flowing all the way down to her ankles. Along the top of her dress there was this intricate beading that turned into flowers. It was absolutely stunning. Her shoes her a pure silver color and were strappy that had a 6 inch heel. I would definitely die in those.

The best part of her whole outfit was the breathtaking mask she had found. The mask had a silver base with white flower designs to match her dress. To top it off, it had tiffany blue feathers sticking out of the side of it. She even already knows how to do her hair and make up.

Then there is me.... Still looking for the "right" dress as Livi puts it.

I look through dress after dress on the rack.

"No... No... No..." I say over and over again.

"Ugh! There's nothing here!" i start to get frustrated.

"There's one more store we need to try." Livi stated.

"Fine. One more then we're done." I mumbled.

We walked out of the current store we were in. As we were walking through the mall to the next store, there was a loud screech, then lots of girls began running in front of me and knocked me over. Let me tell you that my best friend was among them.

"PRINCE LANDON!"

"IT'S THE PRINCE!"

"AHHHH!"

Are some of the things that I kept hearing within the mob of girls.

Next thing I know, I'm being picked up off the ground by a very strong set of arms. Once I'm set on my feet, I mumble a thanks, and saw glaring faces at me. My eyes set on my best friend with the biggest grin on her face. I turn to look at my savior and as soon as my eyes meet them I almost puke.

Prince Landon had a smirk on his face and then smugly said, "Why you are certainly welcome." He bent down and grabbed my hand and went to kiss it. I quickly pulled my hand out of his grasp and loud gasps fled throughout my ears. The prince looked slightly flustered. Ha! Guess he's never been rejected before. He soon recovered after that.

I went to turn around and leave when my eyes landed on the most perfect masquerade outfit ever. It was in the window of a very fancy store. It was a red dress that was tight around the bust, but flowed gracefullly around the manican. It had a black lace over lay that split down the back, so you could still see the beautiful red underneath. They had the manican wearing this mask that covered one eye with an intricate design that crisscrossed and had a opening for the eye. Diamonds were coming through out the middle. There was a framing to the other eye, which gave room for a very intricate red smokey eye. The shoes were flat, but wrapped up around your leg to about your knee. It was so beautiful, but I woud never be able to afford it so I sighed and turned around and bumped into a hard chest.

"If you would excuse me." I went to step around the prince.

"What is your dress size and shoe size madam?" He asked me. Wow! Trying to win my affection since he can obviously tell that I'm not like the others.

"Why would I tell you?" I snarled.

"She's a size 2 dress and size 7 in shoe." Livi skipped over to me.

"Thank you miss. See you at the ball in a few weeks." He winked and then left.

Oh dear god. Please help me.
