Seeing the end of the tunnel, I quickly crawled to the exit, each movement creating a loud metallic thud as I rushed to leave this tight space. Reaching the seal, I grabbed the handle and slid it to my left.

Crawling out of the vent, I looked around to find I was in a storage room, pools resting on the floor while rivers of blood flowed down the walls across the floor and into the pools, steadily increasing their size, occasionally a surge of blood would pulse through the stream.

A howl sounded above me, sprinkles of blood dripping falling to the floor. Looking at the ceiling I saw a mass of flesh and meat. Intestines wrapped around each other in a single tentacle, bones sharpened and wrapped around the end to form a mace of flesh and bones.

The mace swaying above me, with each swing the tentacle dropped down ever so slightly till the mace dropped to the floor next to me, dead.

Well, guess these things are a gamble.

A demonic noise echoed throughout the room followed by the sound of feet scampering across the floor. I turned to my left to see a metal crate tip over, energy cells spilling out of it.

Flesh squirming across the metallic floor caught my attention, I turned back around and saw fleshy, boney mace slowly crawling toward me, before jumping on my arm. Stepping back, I attempted to pull it off but stopped as a scratchy, unholy scream sounded behind me.

Turning around once again, a twisted monster began to charge, its neck stretched with the head dangling as a single eye stared me down. Its front two legs looked like arms only, feet appeared to in place of the hands. Its hind legs being nothing but thick bones.

I aimed Arsen's rifle at the beast, but a massive pain filled my right arm as the bones from the mace tore through my armor and dug into my arm. I fell to my knees, dropping the rifle as the teeth began chewing away at my arm.

I looked up to the beast to see it standing it over me, it was larger then it had looked at first glance. It lifted its head, two massive fangs on its bottom lip with a single fang on the top. Its mouth larger than normal, its jaw twisted.

I quickly peddled my feet back, but the beast grabbed hold of my arm with two arms extending over the shoulders, the arm with the boney mace chewing me up.

Being pulled off the ground, the pain in my arm increased as all my weight tried to keep me grounded. The animal placed my arm in its mouth, before biting down with extreme force, blood seeping from my arm and into its mouth.

In a single, short moment all the pain went away as I fell back to the floor, a static square flashing a few times before disappearing, then all the hurt and pain I had felt in my meager, meaningless life had come crashing down, back onto me.

A new pool of blood began to form around me, blood squirting out of my right shoulder like a hose, staining the floor. More blood raining down on me as the beast devoured my arm that it had stolen from me.

Crawling to the rifle I felt something grab my leg, turning my head to see what stopped me, it was the beast once again. Using my one arm that I still possessed, I twisted myself as to escape the beast's grip, doing just a one complete roll I was free and reached for the rifle.

Just barely within my reach, I placed my finger over the trigger and aimed at the beast's head. Pulling the trigger, a sharp spew echoed through the room as a blue bolt punched a hole through its head, severing the jaw.

It reeled back from the blast on its hind legs, howling from the blow. Before slamming its fronts legs back onto the ground, creating a dent in the floor. Firing a second shot the beast took it with no issues, grabbing my legs, it threw me across the room into a group of barrels.

I quickly pushed aside a barrel crawling deeper into the mass of clean silver barrels, each one seeming heavier than the last. I looked back to see the massive beast shove aside all the barrels I passed, using little to no effort to fling them out of the way.

Reaching for me it stopped as a metallic bang sounded behind, turning around to inspect the noise I looked behind its massive legs to see Arsen banging a metal strut on a storage container. He quickly fired a shot at it, before turning heel and sprinting around the corner, the beast charging after him.

Kayla crawled out of the vent and rushed over to me. Her name was Kayla, right? She opened a stasis pack she pulled out a metal net, placing it over my right shoulder a small metal bulb rounded and sealed the wound.

I looked up at Kayla to see her become a silhouette as a white flare emitted from behind her. My eyes fixated on it, unable to look away I slowly but assuredly got to my feet.

As I stared into the light, Kaia snapped her fingers in front of me, breaking the trance. "Hey, you still with me?" She asked, her eyes flashing with concern for me.

"Yeah, fine. Let's go." I stuttered I looked to toward the light once again, only it was gone.

I slowly walked over to the door, Kaia right behind me.

The blood on the door fading to a grey color.
