Chapter 16: the unlikeliest of friends.

Mornings are dull and boring. Nights are full of events and excitement. But some mornings are alright like a few days ago for example.

I know most people would say that is a typical Dark element thing to say, I hate mornings because waking up is admitting that the sun has risen (that means I have a lot less energy). The other week I met Sparky he has changed since he joined the school. He has a light sandy shade of skin, and electric blue hair with Orange burning eyes. He is learning to talk, slowly but he is getting there. I can still see the pain behind his eyes. He has a heart like every human, and you can hear it beat louder when he gets scared, or slower as his eyes well up from tears.

He is energetic first thing in the morning and he has a morning song which is 'happy', lets just say he has moved in next door. He sings very loudly, but perfectly in tune with the music. The fact that this happens at 7 is alright because I get up about then. By that time Georgina and Aurora have already gone to grab coffees for all of us. I change into my hipster Gothic outfit, which consists of a pair if lace up black combat boots, a brown leather jacket with back studs on the collar and edges of the sleeves, a red tartan skirt which is knee length, black lace tights with skulls on them, a red top with a bat silhouette on it. I straightened my black hair which was now half way down my back. Then I headed out to meet the others before first lesson we made a promise to meet every morning before lessons began.

Sparky is in the hallway by the time I was ready to leave, he was still singing, and unlike most of the time I decided to join in. If nothing else it put me in a better mood, and made Sparky dance along the hall clapping. How can anyone have that much energy?

We meet for an hour before our lessons at 8,  Georgina was given a medal for her bravery for facing Octavia. Magnus asked Aurora out the day he returned, I have never seen her so happy. As for Reptile and Georgina they are official but still attending ace club as a couple. Florian asked Cleo out after talking to Piper, he told her about him liking her so she threatened to tell her if he didn't get on with it. Pandora asked Danielle out they have been dating for two weeks now. As for Raven, she and Lucas are now dating. Iris is still as single as ever, David asked Scarlett out she said ok. And as for Piper she is still too invested in everyone else's drama to date anyone. As for me, I am happy how I am.

Everyone was in the training centre waiting for us as usual, Gillian and Piper were playing two secrets and a lie with Cleo. Iris and Raven were talking to Georgina in the corner, "Hello everyone." I smiled.

"Since when do you ever smile?" Gillian asked.

"Whenever I feel like it Reptilian." I smirked back.

Aurora and Magnus were singing at the coffee table, and chanting some spell or other. Danielle and David were talking out-loud for once, Scarlett was chatting with them and Pandora.

Florian was testing out a new spell or two on Diamond. Sparky trailed behind me, barely leaving my side.

I made my rounds talking to each of them as I realised how much they had changed over the last year, Georgina had completely changed in appearance and confidence.

Cleo was still getting over Tetra who dumped her for a girl called Lila which happened a year and a half ago. As for Aurora she was still getting over her family's death, she now has Magnus and is the happiest I have ever seen her. Magnus was too shy to ask anyone anything so kept to himself most of the time, his family home was bombed and he was the only one to survive the radiation made him unlock his power. Piper was a spy for a government agency, the truth is she messed up a mission and her family died because of it, Florian was the last one left and they ran away as far as they could until they reached the academy. Piper chooses to keep her distance from people but her gates are slowly dropping someday they may fall completely. Florian chooses to improve his magical abilities and learn to make himself stronger everyday. Gillian was a mystery he kept to himself mostly, except with David and Cobra at times.
