Chapter 6

I was sitting in the middle of a huge field, filled with the green grass and the colourful flowers. The field looked like it went on for forever just like when you look into the horizon when you're on a beach, the sea just goes on forever. Adam was sitting next to me. The tips of his blonde hair kept getting into his eyes. Every time he would complain and vow that he was going to start using hair spray to keep it up. It made me chuckle every time. I knew he wouldn't do it because he knew it would ruin his hair. His strong arm was resting on my shoulders and I rested my head on his chest. I could feel his grey eyes watching me. I looked up at him and smiled. The sun from today had made his freckles come out, he hates his freckles but I think it makes him look cute. I took a deep breath and fresh air filled my lungs. I rested my head back on Adam's chest so I could watch the sun set.  The sky was mixed with colours of dark and light blue, amber, pink and red. We went to the countryside for the day, it was Adams idea of a good date. But I have to admit he wasn't wrong. Adam turned me so that I could look at him and he stared into my eyes.

"What?" I asked, starting to feel paranoid.

"You're so beautiful!" Adam answered.

My heart rate increased. Adam slowly came closer to me. Every time he got the slightest bit closer my heart would react by adding an extra beat. His lips slowly pressed onto mine but they didn't stay there long enough. He pulled back so he could look into my eyes.

"I... I" Adam stuttered.

"What is it?" I asked with a caring tone. Was something wrong? Had I done something? I couldn't of and even if I did, why would he take me out on this lovely date. Adam took a deep breath allowing himself to focus.

"I love you!" Adam announced in a softly.

My heart couldn't stop, its rate went up dramatically. That was the first time Adam had ever told me he loved me. He felt the same way!

"I love you too!" I whispered.

Adam gave me his biggest smile and let out a big breath, we both didn't realise he was holding. Adam leant in again. This time, he was rougher and didn't pull away. I couldn't remember a time where I was as happy as I was in this moment. It was the perfect end to a perfect date on a perfect day.

I slowly regained consciousness. I wasn't back in that field, I wasn't with Adam and I didn't hear Adam say the words 'I love you', it was my mind replaying one of my favourite memories. I could feel the sadness creeping up on me. But there was something else, whatever it was, was in my head. I soon realised it was a pain that was in my head.  I couldn't remember what had happened. Then it slowly came back to me, Artur had hit me round the head. Why, was the million dollar question. Had I done something to annoy him? Had he just gone crazy? Either seemed possible to me. I opened my eyes to see the harsh sunlight. I turned away from the sun so my eyes could adjust. I found myself lying in Artur's bed under the covers naked. The covers looked scattered. My stomach started turning as my mind came up with scenarios as to what happened last night. I was starting to get worried now. What had happened while I was unconscious? I looked towards the door and not to far away I found a heap of my clothes on the floor. Did Artur rape me last night?  Just the thought of that monster touching me made the contents of my stomach start travelling to my throat. I grabbed the dressing gown that was beside me and put it on while running to the connecting bathroom.

An hour later and I had been sick three times. Every time the image entered my head bile started travelling up my throat. I hadn't eaten anything proper since last night, it was at least mid-day. After I was sick the third time I tried to compose myself so I could leave the bathroom. When I finally came out, Agna was in the doorway. She looked so pale. I could have mistaken her for the dead.
