Chapter 2- Kiss Me Kiss Me

"WAKE UP!!" Violet wakes up to Michael running through the halls. She looks around and notices that there's a dead-to-the-world Calum on her arm. She pokes his cheek "Calum..wake up..it's ten a.m." She says softly. Calum stirs, but doesn't wake. He pulls Violet in closer. She laughs "Come onn.." She wiggles out of his grip. "Calum come on get up" she whines while pulling on his arm. Finally, Calum wakes up. "Aw come on Violet" he says in a tired voice. Violet gets ready in the bathroom and leaves Calum to do whatever.

Violet goes downstairs only to find Ashton. "Hey..Ashton, right?" He nods with a mouth full of cereal. "Where are Michael and Luke?" She asks. Ashton chews for a second, swallows, then replies "Luke needed to g somewhere..Michael drove him. I dunno when they'll be back but Michael told me to let you know to stick around..you and Calum" he ends the last part with a sad tone. Violet nods and goes through the cabinets, finding a granola bar and jumping onto the counter. Ashton watches her. "Even with her hair all messy she's still just..wow" he thinks to himself. He hears Calum coming down stairs and leaves the room.

Michael finally gets back home to find Ashton, Calum and Violet watching tv. He takes them out to get dinner. "Hey, guys, what are we gonna be doing tonight? Are we all still chillin together?" asks Michael. "Well, me and Violet were going to watch that new horror movie tonight..." Calum says. Everyone gets awkwardly silent for a second, then Asthton speaks up, "I've been wanting to see that too! Maybe we could all watch it together?". Violet smiles "Yea! We could run to the store and grab snacks". Calum's face drops and he leans over to Violet, "But, Violet...This is our tradition yanno?" She gives him a reassuring smile "We can watch it all together this one time! Its still our thing but lets just do it this time." Everyone at the table seems to be in agreement except Calum. "Okay, well what about Luke? Don't you think he'll feel a little left out?" says Calum. "Nah he has a family thing tonight, it's fine" Michael says. Everyone gets up ad they pile into their car and head to Walmart. When they all get inside Michael makes a plan. "Okay, so everyone take about 10 minutes to grab everything they want. We'll meet back here". Everyone agrees and runs off to get their snacks. 

 Violet runs to the cookie section to grab some Oreos. As she's leaving the section she bumps into Ashton and almost drops everything in her arms. They both start laughing. "Where are you headed next? What are you buying?" He asks her. She giggles, "Well I'm actually headed to get peanut butter...weird I know". He laughs and holds up his jar of peanut butter "No way! I was just going to grab Oreos!" They both start laughing "I haven't met anyone else who likes to eat peanut butter and Oreos. Even Calum think's it's gross and he's my best friend".

In the next aisle over Calum stands, listening to their conversation and staring blankly at the gummy bears. Michael walks up behind him "Calum, mate, what's wrong?". Calum turns and smiles at Michael "Nothing. I'm just glad Ashton and Violet are getting along." He begins walking down the aisle. "Calum" Michael yells after him. Calum turns around, angry "What Michael? I want to check out." Michael gives him a sad look "I know you. You acted this way when you found out I was her first kiss." Calum rolls his eyes "I'm not acting like anything." He storms off towards the checkout. 

Violet notices Calum walking past the end of the aisle. She looks up at Ashton "Well, I've got everything I need. I'm gonna go check out and I'll see you at the car." Ashton nods and heads down the aisle. Violet chases after Calum and catches up to him right as he gets in line. She comes up behind him and pokes his sides playfully "Guess whoooo". Calum doesn't react, and just shrugs. Violet is taken aback and checks out. Calum heads to the car but Violet stays where Michael said they would meet. 

They all get home and turn on the movie. Snacks are scattered across the coffee table and Violet is really into the movie. Calum, still angry, is sitting on the other side of the couch from Violet, who's next to Ashton and Michael. The movie gets suspenseful and Violet focuses on it...then a jumpscare and loud noise pop up. She grabs Ashton's arm and squeals, followed by laughter from everyone. She quickly removes her hand from Ashton's arm and starts watching the movie again. Calum gets up and heads into the bathroom. Ashton leans next to Violet and places a light hand on her back and whispers "For a girl who watches a lot of horror movies you sure are a scaredy cat". She scoffs and hits his arm lightly. He leans away when Calum comes back. 

The movie ends and they clean up the snacks. "Hey Vi, I really should get you home. Your mom asked me to." Violet nods and heads to the room she stayed in, "I'll be in the car" Calum shouts from the other room. Violet begins gathering her things and Ashton comes in, "Hey" he says, standing in the doorway. Violet looks over at him and smiles "Hey". She continues to shove things into her bag, grabbing some of the clothes Calum left behind. Ashton shuts the door and walks over to her, grabs the shirt out of her hands and sits it down on her bag. "Violet, can I be honest with you?" She looks up at him and nods. "I think you're pretty cool and I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since I met you. Do you wanna maybe hang out again soon? Whether it be here or somewhere else..." Violet's stomach erupted into butterflies and she smiled, but then she remember Calum and how the last time she had a boyfriend he almost stopped talking to her. Her smile faded but Ashton was leaning in to kiss her. Her bag fell onto the floor and everything spilled out of it. She bent down and rushed to shove everything in her bag "I...I don't know. Maybe". She ran out of the room and out into the driveway. She threw her bag into the back seat and Calum began driving her home.
