The castle is beautiful with high arc entry ways and large windows. 4 towers are facing north, south, west, and east of the castle called watch towers. These towers are manned by one guard and one archer in each tower. Those manning the towers stay in those towers for 24 hours and only at night do they change guards and archers. For the safety of the royal family, the guards and archer must stay in the towers. The Maddala castle has a beautiful garden with plants that hang from the ceiling and the greenhouse has many strange plants collected from the far wide of the country. Many of the plants are medicine plants and other helpful plants.
Inside the castle, servants and maids are bustling about for the Princess's return from her hunting trip not far from the woods. Everyone in the village were also preparing for the Princess's homecoming. Queen Balaine supervised the kitchen to make sure they made all of Princess Huni's favorite dishes including a roasted lamb with a mint salad with asparagus and radishes, grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables, and buttery biscuits with gravy.
Meanwhile, King Amarli is pacing in the throne room, anxious for his daughter's return. The servants milling about watched him while going about their business and muttering to each other to get busy. Then suddenly there were three knocks on the door, loud and clear. The noise settled and for a brief pause, everything froze. King Amarli slowly looked up and gestured the guards to open the door. Walking to the door, the king's heart dancing in his chest, the guards slowly open the door to reveal a teenage girl of about 15 with short chestnut wavy hair and lightly tanned skin.
A heavy cloak thrown over her shoulders with the royal crest imprinted in the center. Present on her face is a huge smile. Stepping inside, she quickly put her things down. The guards closed the door and stepped back.
"Father!" she shouted and tackled her father in a fierce hug and laughing.
"THE PRINCESS RETURNS" shouted the guards from the doorway. One of the guards grabbed a servant passing by and silently led the servant through another door. One maid handed her duster to a nearby servant and ran to inform the Queen in the kitchen and the prince. King Amarli hugged his daughter close and said
"I'm so glad you're back home, we missed you." Feeling tears gather, she said
"I've missed you too." Pulling back, she looked around. 'I thought i saw two people leave, oh well, not my business what they're up to' King Amarli saw his daughter looking around the castle. 'She's probably taking in the castle again' he thought to himself
"Father, i thi-" before she could finish, a loud scream interrupted her.
"HUUUUUUUUNI, YOU'RE BACK! YOU'RE BACK!" the interrupter turns out to be her twin brother Haru.
"HAAAAAAAARU, I'M HERE! I'M HERE!" she mocked him and they both giggled
"I have soooooo much to tell you,but first you got to meet mother. She'll be so mad that she missed seeing you when you got here." Haru grabbed her hand and started pulling towards the kitchen, laughing. King Amarli watched them run off before leaving the throne room to the large dining room where they are holding the feast for his daughter's return from hunting.
'Today everything is going great, Huni is back home, the weather is wonderful. I hope nothing goes wrong today' The King hurries to his study in preparation for his speech.
Somewhere in the shadows, a figure lurks among them. A small smirk curves their mouth and eyes glinting in the dark, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
