*John POV*

"Sherly, time to wake up love."

I groan, pulling my blankets over my head and trying to ignore my roommate before I realize there is a new person in our room.

"Mhhh...don't want to get up yet. Please, just a few more minutes."

"You're going to miss breakfast."

"Not hungry."

"Come on Sherly, when did you eat last?"

"Does it matter?"

"Yes, it does love."

I slowly pull the blankets off of my face, eyes adjusting to the dim lighting enough for me to see what is happening. Another boy is lying in my roommates bed, gently shaking his shoulder as he tries to wake him up.

"Classes start soon."

My roommate sits up quickly, mumbling something about not being late before he falls out of his bed and stumbles into the washroom to get ready.

"Good morning..."

"That's John."

The boy nods, smirking as he holds out a hand to shake mine.

"I'm Jim."

"John."

"Sherly, love, you didnt tell me he was so..."

I tip my head at Jim, frowning deeply as he struggles to select an appropriate word.

"So much like the last one."

"How do you mean?"

They ignore me, not providing a direct response to me but instead continuing to talk to each other. I get up slowly, waiting until my roommate is out of the washroom before I go in and lock the door. There is an empty needle on the counter, a few black boxes scattered around the room. I open some of them, putting them all back when I see they all contain more needles. The pair is still in the room when I leave, cuddling on the bed opposite of mine. I start walking down the corridor, getting lost within minutes.

"Hey mate. Are you lost?"

"Yeah, a tad bit."

I laugh nervously, turning to see a silver haired boy jogging over.

"Heading to breakfast?"

"Ummm..yeah. Then ermm...practice is after."

"You're the new kid? I'm Greg, team captain."

"John Watson. Defender."

"Brilliant, we need someone new down there."

He chuckles lightly, falling in step with me so I can follow him.

"You can come sit with us at our table, meet the boys."

"Thanks."

I grab a tray of food, following Greg over and sitting down at a full table.

"Oi, scoot down. I found the new kid, make some room."

A chorus of laughter follows, as well as a shifting of the boys. Greg pats the bench, smiling warmly as I sit down.

"So, who're you bunking with?"

"Errmm...I'm not sure yet. He won't tell me his name. Seems to know everything about me already though, I havent told him anything much either. Tall, dark haired, pale shin. Think he's on drugs right now. Woke up to some kid in our room, Jim I think his name was..."

The mood sinks instantly, everyone turning to face me in shock.

"You're stuck with that freak?"

"Oi, Anderson! Shut up. He's a bit odd, but he's not that bad."

"You say that because you're in it with his brother."

"Am not!"

Everyone laughs again, mood lifting quickly as they continue their pointless banter.
