(Chapter Seven) Welcome to the Family, Jungkook

'We haven't told mom yet, so there is still that. We figured it would be best if we were all in one place. Ye-Ri whispered before shouting 'hey' at whoever took the phone. They heard grunting and cursing before the phone went dead, signaling the call had ended. Taehyung rolled his eyes; looking at Jungkook, he gave him a wide, box-shaped grin while the other man stared at him as if he were a madman.

"Welcome to the family!"

"Okay, Tae, you know what to do," Ye-Ri said, waiting for her brother to lift his shirt and lower his pants so his sister could get better access to the lower half of his abdomen.

It was his first official ultrasound inside the clinic, and Taehyung admitted he was nervous to see the two babies. Jimin was a bouncing ball of joy, eagerly waiting and watching as Ye-Ri pressed buttons on the monitor before sliding gloves onto her hands.

Jungkook ran his hands through his bangs nervously, and Taehyung watched while the younger brunette let out deep breaths and chewed at his bottom lip out of eagerness. When they first got to the room, Jungkook was close to a panic attack. However, Jimin helped the young man regulate his breathing and calm his nerves. Being a ballet teacher had its perks, especially when you dealt with pre-teens and teenagers with stage fright.

Taehyung noticed that Jungkook had calmed down, and he smiled warmly at him. "It'll be alright," he whispered, and Jungkook nodded in agreement.

"It's going to be cold." Ye-Ri winked at her brother before squeezing the ice-cold gel onto Taehyung's skin, making him shiver. It was just a few weeks ago, that Taehyung performed the ultrasounds, joking with the soon-to-be mothers about how strong the babies' tiny kicks were. Now, Taehyung was on the other side of the ultrasound machine, feeling the chill of the gel on his body. 

The brunette had fond memories of discussing how babies loved to settle onto mothers' bladders. Now here he was, lying on the table checking on his babies. He wondered if they would find his bladder just as comfortable or if one of them would prefer being tucked into his ribcage.

At the thought, a bright grin lit across his face in the shape of a rectangle. Ye-Ri returned her box-shaped smile.

"Happy, huh?" The only thing she got for an answer was a grin as Taehyung watched the monitor screen show the usual black, white, and grey as Ye-Ri moved the probe around, looking for the Jeon twins. He sighed with relief when Ye-Ri found the twins. His sister pressed a button on the monitor and their heartbeats filled the small room, strong and steady. 

"Oh, my God! Taehyung, look! Your babies!" Jimin shouted, almost knocking Ye-Ri over.

Taehyung's face lit up with joy as he watched the image on the screen. The small group was in awe, gazing at the screen showing the two miniature humans curled tightly inside Taehyung. The brunette laughed when his sister scolded Jimin for being reckless. However, the younger man didn't care because he was too busy staring at the twins, his eyes bright and wide. Jungkook slowly crept behind Jimin, looking over his shoulder, and staring at the screen; Ye-Ri giggled when she saw his stunned expression.

"Our-Our babies?" The brunette whispered, not noticing the warm smiles Ye-Ri and Jimin gave him.

The chocolate-haired man stared at the twins; a faint smile appeared on his lips, and Jungkook exhaled slowly through his nostrils, trying to control his breathing. His lungs tightened as he watched the two small embryos move about. They didn't even look like babies. They reminded him of two small jelly beans in a cozy warm cocoon.

Jungkook was excited, scared, and anxious to see the two small forms that could come out looking like him, Taehyung, or perhaps a mixture of both; he would be lying if he didn't think about their genders or personalities. They were his kids, his babies, and he thought he would never experience this again so soon after Yuji.
