" Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it." ~ Albus Dumbledore
Chapter 5. The Middle of The Story
•Sawyer P.O.V•
I feel like a dying candle, my flames running low and I'm about to go out. I don't know what I'm doing with my life; what I'll make of myself. I know what I want to be though, and that's non-existent.
Life is a messed up game and I'm waiting for the "game over" to show up. I lost this game a while back, the only reason I'm still here is because Meryl and Britain are left; dangling on the sidelines and someone has to make sure their safe and sound.

Dear you,
Its 11:59pm, in one minute, or sixty seconds, or sixty thousand milliseconds , today will be gone. And today will be yesterday, and tomorrow will be today; its amazing yet terrifying when you think about it.
Terrifying in the way that everything you did today - all the lists you've made, places you've been, things you touched, songs you've heard, conversations you've had - will soon become a memory, or worse, it will be forgotten. Lost amidst all of your yesterday.
Gone. 12:00am. today.
Its a new day, but with the same feelings of everyday, the unwanted feeling, and overwhelming sense of hate, the same sharp pain in my heart; knowing I'll never be good enough. Yes, its a new day, but with the same feelings of yesterday and tomorrow.
You see, the day changed, the time changed, the minute changed, but I fear that the way I feel; will never change. I feel as though I'm stuck in limbo, trying desperately to escape, but I cant. I'm held back from leaving, there's chains on my ankles.
Keeping me here.
Do you understand?
Dearest, me.

I look up at the huge building before ripping my gaze away and looking over at Chance; who sits in the driver seat smiling. I cock an eyebrow at him, who finds it amusing and lets out a few deep chuckles while unbuckling his seatbelt.
"Come on." He says, sending me a small smile before lifting himself out of the car. I follow his actions, unbuckling myself and slamming the door behind me.
He holds open the building door for me and I give him a grateful smile before moving to the side while pulls out a silver key and unlocks the main door. Holding that open as well, he comes in behind me, placing his hand on the small of my back, so he could lead me.
Chance wanted to work some more on the project, so he came over to the foster home earlier and picked me up. Since its Sunday, the kids are all sleeping in; sundays are when Linda stays home.
Chance was going to bring me back to his place, but than he got a call, Miles wanted him to drop by quickly. Turns out, Miles, Vincent and Nash share a three bedroom apartment. So that concludes why Chance is leading me down a hall.
He stops in front of a door, room 116 and raises his hand to knock, before his hand could even touch the door, it swings open and Miles stood there in pink elephant boxers while wearing a orange apron that said Mama's boy. I watch his face flush when he glances at me, Chance must have noticed, since he lets out a velvety chuckle.
Miles moves to the side, opening the door wider so both Chance and I could walk in. I send a small smile to Miles who runs back to the kitchen. I kick off my shoes and follow Chance into the living room, where Vincent and Nash were sitting. Chance plops down on the empty couch and pats the spot next to him.
