Chapter 2. Only Acquaintance's
•Sawyer P.O.V•
To be honest, I don't know how it happened. I guess I stopped trying, I stopped answering the phone, I stopped going online. I stopped talking, I stopped thinking. Nothing mattered anymore, I wasn't motivated to do anything. People could scream at me or yell to get my attention, but it didn't matter.
I wasn't there, I didn't know who I was or how I landed there. But, I didn't care really, I didn't care about anything. People always let me down, they left. So I stopped letting them in. I kind of ran away in my mind. But there was nothing left there either, I had already torn that down and it was to damaged to be repaired.
And it just kind of happened.
The monsters were winning, they were winning over my mind. Their haunting words imprinted in my mind forever. Their sinning eyes staring back at my own sinful ones. Its aggravating, feeling so vulnerable to my monsters. They know my weaknesses and constantly tear me down, and I let them.
"By guys, love you." I say, kissing the top of both their heads. To which Britain scowls at. I watch them safely go inside before bounding back to my car. I slide in the drives seat and start it up, driving off towards my own school.
Its not even five minutes before I pull into the school parking lot. I drive by the walking students and park on the side of the school. My shoulders sag and I lean my head down on the stirring wheel. Just another shitty day. I repressed a sigh, my patience already running thin.
I sling the leather bag over my shoulder, stepping out of my car with a slam of the door. I lock it and make my way into the old brick building. I have Ellie (My camera) around my neck, swinging back and forth slightly. I was wearing a pair of grey skinny jeans and an oversized t-shirt and matching black converse.
I twist in the combo to my locker and open it up, collecting my textbooks for my classes. I slam my locker shut and let out a yelp when I see Gwyneth Leasle standing there. Just so you know, Gwyneth is basically the leader of the school, and students are easily persuaded by her.
"Here, let me help you with you're books." She sneers, slamming a hand down onto the books in my hands, causing them to tumble to the dirty floor. I stand still, my instinct to run arguing with the instinct to stay and stand my ground.
"Leave her be." I hear male voice snap, I don't know who it is since I'm kneeling on one knee, scooping my books from the floor.
I hear nothing else come from Gwyneth, assumably she left. I let out yet another yelp when a hand appears in front of my face, falling back on my butt, and dropping the books I had recovered. I let out a shaky breath, peeling open my eyes.
I cant contain my shock as I stare up at the caramel haired boy, "H-Hi." I mutter, bringing my shaking hand through my frizzy curls. My eyes darting around the now empty halls.
He extends a hand to which I hastily take, I don't even have to push myself up since he pulls me with ease. Except the part where I stumble forward, almost face planting. He grabs the collar of my t-shirt quickly, and stills me.
"You d-didn't have to h-help m-me." I grumble under my breath, still stuttering of course. I swipe off the dirt from my pants. After I finish I look up into his golden eyes.
Chance smiles, "That's not a thank you." He states with knitted eyebrows. I shove him back a little, grabbing my books from the floor and shoving them into the brown bag.
