You were going through a really tough breakup with your now ex boyfriend Y/EB/N. He had always abused you verbally and you got tired of it and left him. Your best friend Austin had been there for you though through it all. He had always told you, "if he ever lays a hand on you, you call me and I'll make sure he never touches you again". Well one night you and Y/EB/N had gotten into anothet huge fight and he hit you. You had called Austin after you ran out.
He had to come pick you up from the corner of the road and take you to his place to stay for a few days until you could go pick up your stuff from the place you and Y/EB/N had once lived. Austin went with you of course, like the great best friend he is. You went in grabbed your stuff and left without saying a word to Y/EB/N. Austin had suggested you move in with him for awhile, until you got back on your feet again. You were hesitant, but agreed knowing he wouldn't take no for an answer. Y'all were currently having a lazy day while Austin had the day off. Y'all were sitting on the couch together watching some TV when your phone rang.
You looked at the caller I.D. and say that it was Y/EB/N. You declined the call and Austin asked, "Who was it?". "Oh nobody, just another scam call", you replied. He shrugged it off and continued watching the show that was currently on.
A few minutes later your phone rings again. You look and it's him again. You roll your eyes and decline the call again. Austin gives you a confused look. "Another scam call" You tell him. He nods slowly, still looking a little skeptical. Once again, a few minutes later the same call comes in again. You groan annoyed and answers the call. "What do you want Y/EB/N!!" You yell. Austin scoffs and turns off the TV and listens intently.
"I want you to come back" Y/EB/N says from the other line. Austins face goes red and he looks pissed. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? AFTER WHAT YOU DID TO ME YOU EXPECT ME TO COME BACK TO YOU JUST LIKE THAT???!!!!" You yell to him filled with anger and disbelief. Austin flinches slightly at your sudden outburst. "Oh come on baby, I'm sorry for what I did to you, come back to me" He pleads with you, you could practically hear the smirk in his voice. Your fuming by now. "SCREW YOU Y/EB/N!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" You hung up on him and threw your phone on the couch. You were so angry.
Austin just sat there staring at the floor under his feet. You groaned and put your head in your hands, extremely frustrated. "Is he seriously gonna believe that I'm gonna go back to him after all he did to me??!!" You ranted. Austin looked over at you. "He's stupid if he does" He said in a surprisingly calm voice. You looked up at him, finding his eyes already looking at you.
You found yourself calming down when you looked in his eyes. He always had a way just to calm you down just by being there. It's the little things he does. "It just upsets me that he can do that to me and then think I'm gonna just run back to him.. " You admitted. Austin wraps his arm around your shoulders and pulls you into him. You lean into his side and close your eyes, a wave of calmness overwhelming you.
Y'all sat there in silence. Austin holding you, and you leaning into him. This was all you needed to calm you down. Your best friend by your side through it all, just like he always has been. And always will be.
