"Babe come on were gonna be late!"

"I'm coming I'm coming!"

I saw Austin rushing downstairs attempting to put his tie on. I giggled at his goofiness. We were going to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. My parents hadn't met my boyfriend yet, despite us being together for nearly 3 years now. They lived about 3 hours away and they both had full time jobs, and with Austin being in the band and on tour and working all the time, it seemed like we had almost no spare time. Whatever time we did have we always spent together, so this was a really big night for us.

"Here, allow me to assist you" I tied his tie for him, completing his handsome look.

"You look very nice babe" I complimented him, looking him up and down.

"You don't look half bad yourself" His eyes scanned over my body, I was wearing a little black dress with the necklace Austin had gotten me for our 1 year anniversary. We left the house and got in the car beginning our long drive to my parents house.

~Time Skip~

We pulled up in my parents driveway, Austin got out of the car and walked around opening my door for me. He took a deep breath and composed himself. It was obvious he was nervous.

"Aw is someone a little nervous" I teased him.

"I have no idea what you're talking about" A slight pink tint arouse on his cheeks.

"It's okay babe, I'm sure they will love you. Why wouldn't they" I gave him a little wink and grabbed his hand, leading him to the front door.

I knocked on the door and heard shuffling on the other side. My mom opened the door.

"Y/N! Come in Come in!" She ushered us in the door and gave me a hug.

"And this must be Austin! You look wonderful dear! I'm Y/M/N." She gave him a hug. Austin hugged her back and thanked her. Just then my dad walked in the room. Austin immediately got nervous again. He had always been scared to meet my dad. He was scared he wouldn't like him or he wouldn't approve of our relationship. It was always a fear of his.

"H-Hello Mr. Y/L/N, I'm Austin." He reached out to shake my dad's hand, my dad took it and gave him a firm handshake and introduced himself. I gave Austin a reassuring smile.

"Well, dinner is ready now. Everyone take a seat." My mom announced. We all sat down and got our food. We said grace and began to eat.

"So, Austin, what is your job?" My dad asked. Austin took a breath before answering.

"I'm in a band, sir. We make music and travel the world." My dad nodded.

"So you make a lot of money?" Austin nodded and replied with a yes sir.

"So if you and Y/N were to get married and start a family some day, you would be able to support your family?"

"Oh absolutely, sir" Austin replied very confidently. My dad nodded. My mom then spoke up.

"I'm sure you guys will have a beautiful family some day." She smiled at us both. I blushed and so did Austin.

"So, what is everybody thankful for this year?" My mom always asked this question every Thanksgiving. Our whole family would usually come and we would all go around and say something we were thankful for. This year, the rest of the family couldn't come, they wanted Austin my parents and I to do thanksgiving by ourselves so my parents could meet Austin. My dad started.

"I'm thankful for my beautiful wife, and my daughter" He smiled at me.

"I'm thankful for Y/N finding a good man to take care of her" My mom smiled at Austin and I.

"I'm thankful for my parents, and my wonderful boyfriend" I squeezed Austin's hand.

Austin looked at me. "I'm thankful for you. I'm thankful that you are so accepting of my career, even though I have to be away for long periods of time sometimes, you always check up on me every day. I'm thankful that I get to come home to you after rough days in the studio and cuddle with you and just be with you. I'm thankful that I have you in my life." Just then Austin got down on one knee and pulled out a beautiful ring. I gasped and put a hand over my mouth as I started to tear up. "Y/F/N, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and start a beautiful family with you. Will you marry me?"

My hands were shaking. I was so surprised. I didn't expect this at all. I hadn't even recalled a time where Austin talked to my dad by himself to ask him, but at that point I didn't care. All that mattered was this moment.

"Yes!" He put the ring on my finger, jumped up and hugged me. My parents were clapping in the background. I could hear the sniffles from my mother. Austin released me and we all sat back down and continued eating.

"When did you ask my dad?" I looked at Austin confused. He smirked at me.

"I got his number off your phone and gave him a call. He was confused at first but surprisingly, he said yes without even having to meet me first." He gave a smile to my dad.

At that moment as we were all laughing and joking with each other, I realized how much of a beautiful family I had. I was so lucky to have such an amazing family and an amazing fiance. We were gonna make beautiful children some day, and we were gonna have an amazing life together. I'm so thankful for the people around me.
