Paradise Bound

6 months later

A/N Hey guys, I haven't edited this chapter as I wanted to get it posted for you, so I apologise for that and I hope you like it! 

Kaia's P.O.V

I can't believe this is my final shift for almost 2 months, I walked up to my crew table, setting my suitcase and handbag down "Hey guys, how're you?" "Hey babe, long time no see" I greeted my fellow crew members, smiling brightly at each of them, a couple of them I had flown with before so I knew that today was going to be a good day. We were operating the flight to Tenerife, 4 hours each way of serving and looking after almost 350 passengers. I know it sounds like a lot of hard work, but believe me its worth it.

For the last 6 months I have been working as much as I can, operating the longer flights so I could save enough money. After all, 2 months in Australia isn't cheap. I had almost packed all my belongings, I decided I could finish off tomorrow as I don't leave for another couple days. All that was left was to finish this shift and I could hardly contain my excitement, a smile stuck permanently on my face as we made our way down to the aircraft.

I was in charge of the bars today, which meant I had to look after the money and the rear of the aircraft. I didn't mind so much because it meant that I could hide at the back during boarding and all I had to do was greet the passengers and make the occasional PA, to ensure that the overhead lockers didn't get too full. Luckily, we had no problems and before we knew it we were taking off.

Most people don't realise but we have a secret signal to let us know its okay to stand up once we have taken off, so it's understandable that when the seat belt signs flicker off and on that some people stand up straight away and today I wasn't going to let anything ruin my mood, so I politely walked towards the lady who was rummaging in the overhead locker and asked her to take her seat. She was slightly taken aback by the genuine smile on my face and complied straight away.

That's how the rest of the shift went, both flights went smoothly and no one had a reason to complain which made a change! Before we knew it, we were headed back to base to debrief and bank our money and I couldn't help but bounce in excitement as we did so, laughing as the cabin manager made a joke to the captain. The captain and First officer both wished me bon voyage and told me they hoped I had a great time, I assured them if I saw them in the crew room on my return I would tell them all about it, and they headed off home.

I turned back to my crew as we debriefed listening to our manager "So guys, really well done for all your hard work today, it wasn't any easy day but we did manage to make target. I know we didn't really get a long break because they were constantly pressing the call bells but seriously I had the best crew, you all just got on without complaining, I just put on the flight report about the bags we tagged in Tenerife and about that passenger who got funny when we took his bag, um anything you guys want to add or that I missed?"

He took a breath and looked around our little group as we all shook our heads "no I don't think so" and "no, I think you covered everything" being murmured in response. He nodded with a bright smile and looked around at us "Right then, go on get out of here, enjoy your evenings guys and Kaia have a fantastic holiday, go get your lifeguard girl!!" I chuckled shaking my head "yeah, yeah I'll try. You guys take care now and thank you for a lovely day. I'll miss you" I gave each of them a hug, before we headed off to catch the bus to the car park.

Once I got home and waited for my dinner to cook I decided to make a quick facetime call, I picked up my phone and called my friend Paola hoping she would answer, I nodded my head to the call tone as I got some salad ready to go with my dinner "Hey babe! Are you ready?" I jumped at her voice, hearing her chuckle coming from my phone.

I held my chest and laughed as I looked down at her "Omg I am so ready, how about you? Can you believe we are going to be there this time in 2 days?" she squealed excitedly at her friend who happy danced on the other end of the call. "I know right? I think I'm ready. We're meeting at Singapore airport, right?" I nodded as I ate a piece of cucumber, swallowing before responding with a bright smile,

"Yeah, my flight gets in at like 6 am Thursday morning and our connection leaves at 9 am I think, which gives us enough time to get a manicure before we need to be on the plane!" She rambled to Paola, so excited that this was actually happening at last.

Kaia and Paola had been friends through the internet for such a long time, they had always played around with the idea of finally meeting and going to Australia but neither of them had actually imagined that it was going to happen so soon. Paola worked at Disneyland so she too had been working as much as she could.

"Yes babe! I get in about 5:30 am so I will keep a look out for your flight and let you know where we can meet?" Kaia smiled and nodded "Sounds perfect chick, I can't actually wait. I'm so excited to finally hug you!" Paola grinned and looked at her friend nodding excitedly "Me too girl! I gotta go finish packing but I'll see you real soon. I'll text you"

Kaia heard the oven beep and waved at her friend laughing at how goofy they both were "Sure thing chick, my dinner is ready. I'll see you in Singapore gorgeous, mwah!" she waved and blew a kiss, her friend sending one right back as they hung up the call. She set her phone down on the counter top and sighed happily. The alarm on the oven bringing her back from her day dreams...

That night as she sat and had her dinner, she couldn't stop thinking about what the next few months held for her and her friend, she was so lost in thought that the rest of the night went past in a blur, she couldn't even sleep she was so excited! She just hoped it would turn out to be the holiday she had been dreaming of.
