The two girls had finally landed and were very excited to get to their rental apartment, they were staying in Sydney for the first week at least and then making further plans from there. They had chosen to come at the end of February as it would still be hot but there would be less people around and they were more than excited to explore.

Kaia's P.O.V

This apartment is stunning. It was perfect for us and had the most beautiful view over Bondi  Beach. I was gonna enjoy waking up to this every day, Paola was currently still in shock over how beautiful this country was and she hadn't moved from the balcony in about 10 minutes. She was still fixated on the view.

I left her to admire our surroundings whilst I went to my room and started unpacking. Just before I left to come here I took up surfing and a little running to keep fit when I wasn't working. So I decided that after I unpacked I would go for a run along the beach, as I needed some fresh air after being on a plane for 24 hours. because although we were both exhausted neither of us wanted to sleep yet for fear of screwing up our sleeping schedules.

Meaning that we would be awake for another few hours at least, We had also realised we would need food in the house so tonight we'd go out for dinner. I changed into some gym clothes and grabbed my phone, putting one headphone in as I walked out to tell Paola where I was going "Hey P, I'm going for a run. did you wanna come?" I asked nicely as she came inside from the balcony.

"Oh no, its okay babe I don't run. I'm gonna stay here and unpack. have fun and be safe, okay?" She said with a stern mom look on her face, I nodded smiling "Yes mum, I promise. I'll call if i need you okay"  She smiled happily, nodding at my response as I gave her an appreciative hug "I love you chicka" "I love you too doll" We both said at the same time as I walked to the front door and Paola to her room.

I decided to take the stairs down as I would probably need the elevator on the way back, I casually jogged down the stairs selecting my playlist, letting the beat fill my ears and making sure i stayed in time to the beat as I broke into a slow jog and headed down towards the beach. I figured the lifeguards would be packing up the beach by now.

The thought bringing a soft smile to my lips as my feet pounded against the street, I let myself get lost in my music as the fresh air filled my lungs. It felt so good to breath in the salty sea air after breathing in the musty aircraft air conditioning. My lungs thanking me for the pleasant change, I nodded and smiled at the people I passed not realising I was already at the beach.

I let my feet take me down to the promenade stopping to lean on the railing and looking around taking in all the sights, sounds and smells. I was finally here, i took a deep breath closing my eyes. As I breathed out I opened them again and looked out to sea, letting the sound of the waves drown out everything else around me.

I could see the Rhino buggy driving along the sand, I could just make out the blue lifeguard shirt the driver was wearing, my eyes scanning further along the beach to the last of the tourists and locals packing up their towels as the lifeguards collected in the signs.

It was such a peaceful time of day, the hussle and bussle of the day was over and it was the final calmness before everyone went home, I knew all too well from watching bondi rescue that this was the time of day when everyone started to let their guard down and the lifeguards were usually having to perform a few last minute rescues.

I stood and watched as the normal bondi evening took place in front of me, knowing I had made the right decision to come back as the sky flashed with beautiful pinks and oranges signalling the first of many sunsets over the bay that i would be witnessing during my stay, I took out my phone and snapped a few photos, not that they did the beautiful sight any justice but it would be a nice reminder to look back on.
