As the two girls arrived at the airports in their hometowns, both buzzing with excitement to finally get to Singapore and start their long-awaited girls adventure, they messaged each other. Letting the other know that she was almost on her plane. Kaia and Paola both made their way through the airport, grabbing themselves snacks and maybe a present or two before heading off to their gate once it is announced. Staying in contact with each other the entire time.
Kaia smiled when she got on the plane, observing the crew to see what the differences were between long haul and the short haul flights she operated, but after they took off she decided to switch off her work brain and find a movie to watch. Paola on the other hand, went straight for a movie once she boarded her plane, giving the crew attention as they went through the safety demo. Both girls watched out of the window eagerly awaiting their arrival in Singapore.
12 hours and 50 minutes later
Kaia's P.O.V
I was jolted awake by the landing gear touching the runway, signalling our arrival into Singapore. I smiled to myself sleepily, not knowing when I'd fallen asleep but being extremely grateful for it. I sat up and stretched as I looked out the window, it was only 6 am but I could tell the sun was going to rise soon. I felt the happiness bubbling inside me and I was more eager than ever to step off this plane, I waited for the seat belt signs to go off but it took longer than I realised.
It was then that I noticed the crew were dealing with someone having a medical, they made a PA for medical professionals but no one came forward, so I stood up placing my bag under my seat and squeezed past the passenger in my row.
I tapped the female crew member on the shoulder and spoke softly "Hi, I'm Kaia. I'm not a medical professional per se, I'm actually cabin crew is there anything I can do to help?" I showed her a photo of my ID on my phone and she smiled, I could tell she was nervous and her voice wavered as she spoke. "Hi there, that's great thank you, I'm not too sure right now but stay here and I'll ask my colleagues" She nodded and I stayed in position, waiting for her to get back. When she returned she told me that the patient had stabilised and the paramedics were with her and she also thanked me for being so kind to volunteer myself.
I shook my head and told her it was no problem, that we'd all do the same for each other. She wished me a fantastic holiday and I replied "I hope the rest of your shift goes smoothly, you're doing an awesome job!" She grinned, nodding and thanking me as I returned to my seat to grab my hand luggage.
After the extra 20 minutes on the plane we were finally able to disembark, the crew thanking me for my help as I walked off, thanking them for a great flight and reminding them what a great job they had been doing, as I stepped off the plane I took in a deep breath. I made it to Singapore!!
I walked as fast as my legs would take me to the flight connections point, my luggage on its way to the next plane, I had 3 hours here to stretch my legs before Paola and I got on the plane again. I smiled as I took out my phone, careful not to walk into anyone as I pressed the call button next to her name and waited for her voice to sound on the other end.
Paola's P.O.V
Once I'd landed and gotten off my plane, I went to the arrivals board to look for Kaia's flight to come in, I walked down to meet her at her gate but there weren't many passengers getting off, So i sent Kaia a text
Hey chick, where are you? I'm waiting at your gate xx
I looked around for someone to ask, but the gate staff were talking amongst themselves, so I waited patiently and finally about 20 minutes later my phone started to ring "Hey girl, I'm just walking to the entrance of the gate, are you still there?" came her voice, she sounded so apologetic and I smiled softly, responding when I realised she couldn't see me "I'm waiting in the gate, is everything okay?"
Kaia chuckled and responded immediately "Oh yeah, someone just needed medical attention. I'm never off duty huh! I think I see you, get ready for the biggest hug!!" I was about to reply but the phone hung up and the next thing I know. "PAOLA, OMG ITS YOU" I heard a scream and turned around to see her slowly running towards me, I held my arms open as I walked towards her and gave her the biggest hug "OMG KAIA I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS YOU" I spoke into her hair, holding onto her.
After a few minutes we let each other go and laughed softly as some of the other passengers looked at us funny and the gate staff were awing at us. We linked arms grabbing our discarded hand luggage and headed off to stretch our legs when Kaia suddenly stopped "omg lets get manicures" She squealed pointing to the sign that was directing us to the spa "HELL YES, let's go" I squealed as well, beyond excited that we were finally together.
We spent a good couple of hours in the spa having our nails done and maybe a Singapore sling each, before making our way back to the gate grabbing some snacks on the way. I don't think we'd stopped talking at all, our excitement bubbling up inside us as we found some seats in the gate, waiting to be called onto the plane.
Once inside the plane (we totally didn't speed walk) we found our seats and got comfy, cuddling up with each other as we picked a movie and eagerly awaited our arrival in Sydney.
Harrison's P.O.V
Sure, working on Bondi beach had its advantages, the sun, sea, surf and not to mention all the beautiful foreign beauties. The boys always reminded me of this and although I laughed it off, I couldn't help wondering if I'd ever find the girl that was right for me. I wanted someone who could challenge me and make me a better person, who was different from everyone else.
I was currently at work and may have been thinking a little too deeply, because the next thing I know Maxi is shoving me out of the rhino to shake me from my thoughts "thought I'd lost you to your brain for a minute mate" came Maxi's strong Australian accent, making me shake my head and laugh as I stood up and dusted myself off "Nah mate, just thinking you know? Sorry I'll focus" I apologised as I sat back beside him. He patted my back and turned his attention to the water.
I turned my focus onto the water as the radio crackled to life "Maxi, Hutz can you see the two swimmers out in front you by second ramp? You might have to go in. they don't look good"
I sighed and picked up the radio, laughing as I got to it before Maxi "Yeah alright mate, I'll have a paddle out" I said throwing the radio down and taking my shirt and bag off. I grabbed the rescue board and went in for about the 15th rescue that day.
Kaia's P.O.V
I can't believe it 4 more hours and we'll be there! I had a little nap resting against Paola, but I woke up a few minutes ago and decided to let her sleep. We are currently over Perth and I can't wait to start our adventure, I could bounce in my seat but I won't I'll wait until we get there.
