Kaia's P.O.V
Once I had made it back to the apartment, I squealed and let out all of my excitement at having finally met the lifeguards. How I had managed to keep it together was beyond me, I was internally freaking out the entire time I was talking to them. Mainly because Harrison was a few feet away from me.
Paola had walked out of her room at the sound of me squealing, to find me happy dancing around the hallway, She shook her head and just looked at me with an amused expression "Good run?" She let out a chuckle as she watched me try to contain my excitement "Holy crap, I just met the Lifeguards" My grin widened as I looked up at Paola.
She shook her head in disbelief "Nah you didn't, they must have finished their shift by now" I could tell it would take a bit of convincing to make her believe me and I knew the perfect way to do it. "Anyways, should we head out for dinner?" I questioned with a big smile, as both our tummies rumbled at the same time. Both of us burst out laughing as Paola replied "Yeah I think we should"
We decided to walk down to the local area by the beach to hunt out a place to eat, linking arms we headed out of the building, and towards the beach, the sun completely was gone now as night drew over the beautiful city of Sydney. The sparkling lights making it seem so magical, small gasps could be heard as we both took in the beauty of it all, Paola had not yet seen the beach up close but it was obvious she loved it already.
We wandered through a few streets and then back down to the oceanfront as we were mainly getting our bearings to start with, chattering amongst ourselves as we looked around. We finally found a nice little bar looking out to the ocean called The Bucket List and I knew I had seen it somewhere before.
We walked up Paola nudging me and nodding her head, silently asking me to do the talking as we approached the server "Hey there, could we get a table for two please?" I smiled politely at him, knowing that working in a restaurant is never fun, but this place had a really nice atmosphere.
He smiled back "G'day ladies, of course, follow me right this way" He led us into the patio area and walked us past a big group of people, before sitting us down at a table giving us an uninterrupted view of the beach. This brought big smiles to both of our faces as our eyes sparkled at the excitement of finally being here.
He could tell we were new around here and spoke again as we sat down "You've not been here before hey ladies?" We both shook our heads chuckling softly "How could you tell? we've only just arrived" He chuckled and handed us our menus "I just had a hunch, I'll be back to take your orders soon. My names Mikey, and I'll be your waiter for the evening"
It wasn't until after we had ordered our food that I recognized a few of the faces in the group of people behind us, I smiled softly as I made eye contact with one of them, trying not to turn beet red as I noticed who it was...Harrison. I looked back at Paola as I realised I had zoned out of our conversation, so I tried my best to catch what she was saying as I didn't want her to think I was being rude. I think she must have noticed because she just laughed as she asked: "You were lost in your own little world huh?" I couldn't help but let out a giggle as I nodded shyly.
"I may or may not have been checking out that group of guys" I admitted shyly as I nodded my head towards them, and then nearly choked on my drink at Paola's reaction as she discreetly had a look herself, her eyes got wide and she winked back at me "Good choice Kaia! They're hot" I tried to control my laughter as by now we had caught their attention, "Shhhh, they might hear you" I laughed, thankfully they were far enough away that we couldn't be heard.
For the rest of the evening, we enjoyed the amazing food and refreshing drinks on offer as we had both been a lot hungrier than we had first thought, and it certainly tasted miles better than the plane food, to which we had become accustomed. We relaxed in the warmth of the beautiful Australian evening with a bottle of wine, getting lost in conversation. Throughout the evening I couldn't help but notice, that Harrison kept making glances at our table sending a small smile our way each time.
