Not a day goes by where I don't think about Emily. She was my best friend in the whole world. She was always there for me. Why do the nicest people have to go the quickest? She never hurt a soul. She didn't deserve this. She didn't want to die. She wanted a family.
I woke up in a grim mood. I was thinking about Em all morning. I miss her so much. It's already been over a year since I lost her. At least she's with mom and dad.
I rolled around to Grayson's side of the bed and saw he wasn't there.
"Gray?" I called. He should be home, it's Sunday.
"Yes Lauren?" He bolted to our room.
"Can you take care of Daniel today? I don't feel too good." I played with my thumbs.
"Of course, what's wrong?"
"I've just had a lot on my mind recently. I miss Em. It's extremely difficult at times." Grayson walked over to me and wrapped me in his warm embrace.
"I know, just know I'm always here for you. I love you." He rubbed my back.
"Love you too." He pecked the top of my head and walked out of the room. I laid back down and stared through the window. It was December and the skies were grey.
