For the first time since announcing their breakup, one half of the couple has decided to speak up about it, and it's not Tom. Star Grace took it into her own hands to email us an official statement regarding the breakup, and rumours that have been floating around socials.

"When me and Tom [Holland] broke up, we didn't request that people respect our decisions or privacy, we kinda just assumed and hoped our fans would. I wish I could say we got nothing but love since the breakup, but we haven't. And that's partially our fault - we were both too sad and sore over our heartbreak that we hid it rather than dealing with it, and now because of that, I think we both did something wrong."

She went on to say, "We've always both been one hundred per cent honest with our fans with everything except for the breakup. There isn't much to say about it anyways; it happened, it's over, we're over. But we should've formally put it out there, and that's one of the ways we went wrong. Tom is a good guy. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets. He's always been a fierce fan, a loving supporter, and he definitely has the biggest heart in the world. However, this doesn't make me the guilty party in this situation. I'm a hard working individual who worked her ass off for years to get where she is now. To say that either of us used the other for popularity gaining is just messed up."

There have definitely been rumours about Holland and Grace using each other as a type of publicity stunt, one Twitter user even going as far as suggesting their whole relationship was made up by their managers (link). The most popular rumour is that Grace dated Holland in his peak of popularity from his debut Spider-Man movie and dumped him when she got enough popularity/she realized she couldn't take it anymore.

"It's been months, the wound is still fresh, but I feel like if I don't speak up about it, everything will just continue on as it's been going and it'll get worse. Take this as our official breakup statement. Please respect Tom and I's decision to end things, and give us our privacy. It's the least that we deserve after everything you've put us through."

"We truly loved each other with everything we had. Some things just don't work out in the end."
