Her heart pounded in her chest as she paused for a breath, leaning against a tree. Her entire being ached, ached from running, ached with worry for Taehyung.
"I'm going to have to go back, aren't I?" She huffed quietly. Regaining her breath before sprinting in the way she came. It became darker and darker with every passing minute and she stumbled her way through the last stretch.
She noticed the gleam of the axe outside the cabin that was used for the woodcutting and she grabbed it.
"Why didn't the man who came into the cabin get this?" She muttered softly before tip-toeing through the cabin to where she could hear Taehyung hurling verbal abuse towards the male, and the male hurling similar words back at Taehyung. She saw Taehyung fly to the floor, the firepoker on the other side of the room and she gasped, seeing a cut right above his eyebrow.
"Game over, Taehyung." The male smirked, hood still pulled over his face as he lunged at Taehyung with the knife. The exact knife from the kitchen.
In that moment she leaped forwards, swinging the axe as if her life depended on it - which it did.
The knife got stuck in the wooden handle of the axe, barely missing her fingers as her panicked face turned into a brave, stone cold glare.
"Back off, and leave us alone." She spoke, voice low to mask the fear that would surely be detected in her voice.
"I'll be back for her Taehyung, I hope by then you would've at least completed what you need to do." The male smirked, walking right past her and Taehyung who was sitting up.
Suddenly the axe felt heavy in her arms and she dropped it to the floor, the knife coming out of the wood and bouncing across the wooden flooring of the cabin.
"I thought I told you to run." Taehyung stood, eye closing over to prevent the blood seeping from his cut running into it.
"I... I couldn't leave you alone." She spoke softly, taking his hand and guiding him to the bathroom. There she cleaned up the blood, a small frown left on her face, and inspected the wound. "It's only a small wound. With pressure on it will clot within a few minutes." She spoke softly and applied pressure.
The room was silent apart from the running water that was washing the blood down the drain.
"Thank you." He whispered softly, taking hold of her other hand. "I would've been dead if you hadn't of come back."
"It's no problem." She smiled softly, and kissed his cheek gently. "I'd rather die by your side than alone in the woods."
"I love you." He brought her hand up to his lips and kissed that gently.
"I love you too."
Option time~ Option 3 for this chapter won't be forgotten... I just thought I'd toy with you all just a little longer...
Spend the rest of the night awake, making sure Taehyung was safe.
Sleep the night and the worries away after locking up the cabin.
