I wake up feeling refreshed, and the happiest I have been in a while. I glance around my room, holding three other beds which seemed to be empty.
I walk over to my closet and pull out my black and yellow uniform for the day, and go and brush my teeth.
'Even the bathrooms seem magical' I think to myself.

Afterwards, I walk downstairs to the common room, and see a Hufflepuff prefect standing there, as though waiting for me
"Hello" he started, "I'm Prefect Gabriel Truman, and I'm delighted to welcome you to Hufflepuff house. Our emblem is the badger, an animal that is often underestimated, because it lives quietly until attacked, but which, when provoked, can fight off animals much larger than itself, including wolves." Wow, I thought, what an introduction for 8 in the morning. I yawned, but quickly reassured him that I was just tired, not bored, so he continued,
"First of all, let's deal with a perennial myth about the place, which is that we're the least clever house. WRONG. Hufflepuff is certainly the least boastful house, but we've produced just as many brilliant witches and wizards as any other. Such as Grogan Stump, one of the most popular Ministers for Magic of all time. He was a Hufflepuff - as were the successful Ministers Artemesia Lufkin and Dugald McPhail. Then there's the world authority on magical creatures, Newt Scamander; Bridget Wenlock, the famous thirteenth-century Arithmancer who first discovered the magical properties of the number seven, and Hengist of Woodcroft, who founded the all-wizarding village of Hogsmeade, which lies very near Hogwarts School."
I looked up st him, and pondered, "Will I ever be as great as they are, even though I'm a muggleborn?"
"Course you would be, if you tried hard enough, and play well with others, then you can achieve whichever path you wish, as long as it doesn't involve dangers", he answered.
Humming, I let him continue as I think.
"So, as you can see, we've produced more than our fair share of powerful, brilliant and daring witches and wizards, but, just because we don't shout about it, we don't get the credit we deserve"
"Neither do I" I remark sadly, looking down.
"Well, Hufflepuff will surely cheer you up, and don't forget the kitchens, if you know what I mean", he laughed. I giggled back and nodded.
"Now, we better head of to breakfast" he walked through the entrance, and I followed until I saw two familiar redheads in the halls.

"Well, well, well" said George, as he judged his twin " look whose finally showed, huh Forge" he smirked at me, and they followed me to breakfast. I split from them to my table.

I glanced up at the head table above, and scanned the row, my eyes landing on a figure cloaked in black. I shivered and looked away, uncomfortable.

"That's professor Snape, that is" said a guy with blonde hair. "Be careful, though, he tends to deduct points for whatever he can". I glanced back, but Snape was glaring at Harry, it seemed.

"Oh, I'm Cedric by the way, Cedric Diggory" he held out his hand after wiping it on his cloak. I shook his hand and introduced myself.
"I'm Tamsyn, nice to meet you" I told him, he was cute, but not my type. He was also a year older, 6th year.
