Liza was utterly shocked to what she just heard. After days of travelling she now stands before the person she's lookin' for. 'How did my mom knew this beautiful lady?' I thought in mind.
''My mom sends me here to deliver this envelops to you.'' I said as I shows her the envelops in my hand.
''I think it's better to talk a about this inside the house, if you don't mind?''
Both ladies went inside the house while Liza in the other hand was shown her way to the living room by the maid. Everything inside the house screamed luxurious. Momentarily, when the maid came back with drinks Liza and Christine sat across each other in the living room.
''So, you came here to give me these envelops, right?'' Christine asked after Liza handed her the envelops. Liza nodded in response. She pressed her palm at the mug in her hand to keep them warm. ''What's your name, dear? I haven't seen you around here.'' Christine tried to find the right words that wouldn't offend the shy lookin' girl sitting across her. Though she looked familiar but she couldn't pinpoint where she saw that face.
''My name's Liza Jones and I really don't live here. I came from a far town.'' I explained.
''Very well,'' Christine said while nodding.
Liza sip her hot chocolate as she watched Christine tearing the envelop open at the same time she lets her eyes to wonder around her surroundings. The chandeliers looks like a diamond to her though she never saw one in actual but she'd seen them in photographs and the ornaments in the house was eye catching. 'They've must have cost a fortune.' I thought.
Christine silently read the paper until she read the last part where she saw Eliz Maxwell's name. She couldn't believe at first but she knows her handwritten like the back of her hand. She stared at the girl who sits across her.
''Eliz is your mom? The one that send you here?'' She asked. Liza puts down the mug and she clasped her hands together in her lap. She nodded shyly to Christine. What she said next brought back the painful memories Liza had been through. ''Where is she?'' She asked in curiosity. Then she added, ''where she's stayin'? I haven't seen her in years.'' Christine voice many question. It is true she haven't seen Eliz since the day she left without goodbye but she sends her letters once in three months until two years ago she haven't gotten any anymore. The last thing she received are the deeds of the house she was staying. It was originally in Eliz possession until she’d name it to her and she doesn't understand why. But now that she thinks Eliz would be coming back and her daughter sits next to her, she wouldn't hesitate to give back the house to them again.
I fight back the urge to cry but the moment I speak I broke into tears. ''My-... my mother died a month ago,'' I sob. ''She asked me to give you the letter.'' It's just too much to remember that I lost both of my parents' and now I'm alone.
There was a long silence in the house until Liza felt a pair of arms being wrapped around her in a tight hug, a comforting one. ''Eliz asked me to take care of you. We'll be here for you, don't cry,'' Christine patted Liza's back as her other hand runs to her hair. When Liza was a sober Christine let her go while Liza wiped her tears from her face with the back of her palm. ''Well, your mother and I use to be like sisters before ever since I lost my parents' too. Her parents' take good care of me as well.''
Christine and Liza chatted for hours until Liza's stomach growl's and her face flush like a tomato in embarrassment. Christine chuckled and ushered them to have their late diner. Liza accepted it and they eat together.
