After having their meal Liza tried to speak to Christine about getting back in her old place. Now that her business is done here she might as well go on her way back to where she belong , though this subject was opposed by Christine.
''No,'' Christine said. ''You'll stay here for now on. Eliz asked me to take care of you so you will be living here now. She once helped me before and I’ll be doing the same.” Christine dismissed Liza and wave for the maid to come to her. “Please, prepare the guest room. Liza here will be living here for now on.”
Liza didn’t expect Christine to welcome her with open arms. She has nowhere else to go and her mother always give the best for her. ‘Maybe, that’s why mom sends me here because she knew Christine could help me.’ I thought.
Nevertheless, Liza felt indebted to Christine and somehow she promised her that she’ll repay her kindness in any way she could. Christine of course didn’t acknowledge this.
“I always wished to have a daughter. I’m glad Eliz entrusted you to me.” She look grateful as she said this to her. “I think you’re exhausted. You look so pale you need to rest.”
“Thank you for everything. I promise to repay you someday.” I said.
“I told you to not be bothered about this. Your mom once helped me as well when I lost everything. You don’t need to repay me.” The maid came and said that the guest room is already set. “Please, accompany Liza to her room.” Christine said. Before Liza got out of her sight she thanked Christine again in her outmost sincerity.
Christine stayed in the living room as she waited for their maid who was accompanying Liza to her room. When she came back she asked her about her son’s whereabouts, “Is Ryan in his room? I haven’t seen him around?”
''He had not gone back, yet.'' The maid told her.
''Again?'' Christine exclaimed in exasperation. Ryan's a little bit odd for the last three weeks and she haven't talked to him yet for he's always out with his friends. Although Ryan never seen his father he didn't asked her mother about it. But she knows he wanted to know at least his name.
Christine sighed, ''did he mention anything to you. I mean he's acting different from the last weeks and I haven't got a chance to talk to him.'' She asked their maid.
Claire has been Ryan's nanny since he was in diapers and until now she was working for the Salvatore. She got two kids who'm she and her husband are struggling to raised. She apart from Christine knew Ryan.
''He haven't said anything to me. I think it is best if you talk to him. He seems depressed for some reason.'' Claire said.
''That's right, I'll talk to him tomorrow. I'll head to bed now. You should too.'' She told Claire.
