"Gorillaz takes the world by storm with new album 'Humanz' after a seven year hiatus!" You read aloud to your friend, f/n,
"There is no way you met some famous green dude," they replied, "anyway, he's probably not even actually green. Just paint or somethin' y'know like uh... The Blue Man Group!" You crossed your arms and stared at them sternly, "I'm telling you, it happened!"
"Woah woah, no need to get all serious on my ass, ok! Fine, I believe you,"
"Really?" You relaxed your expression,
"Of course! We're best friends! If you say it happened with such seriousness then I believe you."
"Thanks," you sighed and slumped down onto the sofa next to them,
"I was starting to think I was crazy once he'd left, like i'd imaged it or the librarian had snook something into the water they gave us at book club," that last comment made you both laugh and they nudged you in the arm, "cmon some little old lady wouldn't drug you!" You nudged them back but slightly harder, "she's not some frail old hag; I swear she was like a party animal back in her day, probably still is!" They snorted, "I'm telling you! She had blue hair and three piercings!"
"Damn that library attracts some real weirdos," they turned to you and raised an eyebrow, "wonder what that says about you, eh?" You laughed and shoved them off the sofa, the two of you spent a good few minutes giggling and shoving each other playfully until your phone suddenly exploded with notifications,
"Oh yeah, I set a bunch of reminders for you so you don't miss your date," they winked at you as you attempted to stop the reminders,
"It's not a date!" You said once you'd switched them off, your cheeks slightly rosy,
"Yeah but you like him don't you!" They googled him on their phone and pulled up a photo, they put it infront of their face and started talking in a stupid voice, "oh y/n, how I love thee! You are the most magnificent person I've ever laid my fucked up eyes upon!"
"Hey!" You laughed as you shoved them in the arm, "ya big meanie! I do not like him! I just think he's... pretty neat." You cringed at yourself,
"Suuuure!" They said sarcastically, "anyway, you should be going, you'll be late!"You grabbed your bag, fixed your hair and waved good bye to your friend.

Stumbling through the large wooden doors once again, you breathed in the smell of old pages and listened to the sound of them being turned. You hurried quickly to where book club was usually held except this time, he was there.
You couldn't help but smile, part of you had been silently wishing he wouldn't turn up as the thought of him made your stomach swirl with butterflies but for once you didn't know how to handle it. He was incredibly fascinating and he had a feeling of adventure around him that you loved!
"Over here, love!" He waved to you as if greeting an old friend, you sat down onto another foldable metal chair,
"Hi! Glad you made it this time!" You giggled as he nudged you in the arm but delicately as if he thought you were a doll and would shatter if pushed too hard. He nudged you as your friend had done only minutes ago yet it felt different, there was a certain feeling circling the two of you and it seemed that neither of you could place your finger on it,
"This may sound embarrassing," he began, all your attention focused on him, "but... I never caught your name when we spoke yesterday!" You smiled and opened your mouth to answer him but was rudely interrupted by the host of the club,
"Talk in your own time y/n! Now, all of you take out your books!" You looked down in shame, you hated people purposefully picking you out in public situations... your cheeks went red with embarrassment and tears threatened to fall as heads turned to stare at 'the girl that ruined everything'- at least, that was how you saw it..."Y/n, huh?" You looked up at him in surprise, not expecting him to say your name, "I like it." He smiled and you beamed back at him, the host glared at the pair of you but this time you didn't feel bad because you knew the most interesting person in the room liked you and that was enough for you.
You dug around in your bag, searching for your book but to no avail... you suddenly remembered that you'd left it at your apartment and hit yourself on the head with frustration,
"Left your book?" He whispered in your ear as to not disturb anyone, your face heated up from embarrassment- you hadn't realized he was watching you, "you can share mine if you want," He whispered again and you nodded sheepishly in reply, "T-Thanks." Was all you could say in your embarrassment. The two of you spent the whole time reading passages and discussing anything that came to your mind and giggling like a bunch of school kids, overall it was a fun afternoon. Definitely one of your top 10.
