Chapter 34: Flashback 7

The four walk through the dark forest, the moon as their only source of light. They couldn't tell what time it was but they knew it had been hours since they first left the tunnel.

"How much farther?" Complains Jimin.

"Not much." Replies Namjoon.

"And how much is 'not much'?" Asks Yoongi.

"We're almost there." Says Namjoon.

Namjoon stops in his tracks all of a sudden and turns around to face them.

"What's wrong?" Asks the unnamed man.

"Someone's following us." He whispers.

The four stay silent and listen to any noises that might be unnatural.

"I don't hear anything." Whispers Jimin.

"Shh." Namjoon shushes him.

The four listen closely but still hear nothing.

"Something's off," Yoongi says after a moment of silence.

"It's like, there's nothing." Says the unnamed person. "No noise, no wind, no animal noises."

"Run!" Namjoon says as his eyes widen.

The other three stare at him in confusion but he just runs off, leaving them to catch up. The other three quickly followed, not wanting to be left behind.

"What is it?" Asks Jimin as they continue running.

"Shadow Demon." Whispers Namjoon.

"What?" Asks Yoongi, not completely being able to hear him.

"Shadow Demon." He says a little louder.

"Just great." Says the unnamed man. "First we're being chased by the kingdom and now we're being chased by some dumbass shadow demon thingy."

"Don't call it that!" Jimin says quickly. "You might anger it!"

"Where did it come from?" Asks Yoongi.

"Only the kingdom has access to them! So either the kingdom summoned it or someone found a way to summon one; it's most likely the first choice." Namjoon says.

A deep sounding roar is heard behind them and a loud rustling of leaves can be heard.

"Run faster!" Yells Namjoon.

They run faster as the noise behind them gets louder and closer. A tree falls right in front of them making them stop dead in their tracks.

"Quick, over it, we can't stop now!" Says Namjoon as he climbs the thick tree.

They quickly climb over the tree and jump off, before running off.

"Quick the village isn't that far away!" Says Namjoon.

They run through the forest, not paying attention to the monster chasing them. They follow Namjoon as he leads them to the supposed village.

"There!" Says Jimin.

Everyone glances at what he's pointing at and see walls surrounding a certain part of the forest. Namjoon quickly searches the wall and spots a hole they can crawl through.

"Quick through the hole!" He says leading them towards the hole.

They quickly run towards it and one by one they crawl through the hole.

As soon as the last person is through the hole, they run as fast as they can into the nearest home and slam the door shut.

They catch their breath as they hear the Shadow Demon quiet down. They wait quietly for any noise but hear nothing. After what feels like hours Namjoon tells them its safe and they all seem to release a breath they were holding.

"Ok what the fuck was that?" Asks Yoongi.

"I told you, a Shadow Demon." Namjoon answers, plain and simple.

"Yeah no shit, but what is it?" He asks again.

"It's well, I'm not really sure how to explain it." Namjoon starts off. "But let's just say its a shadow from the depths of hell, that will do whatever it takes to finish the mission it was given."

"So we have a demon that's chasing us and most definitely wants to kill us?" Jimin asks.

"Yeah practically." Nods Namjoon.

"Just great." Yoongi sighs heading towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Asks the unnamed man.

"I need some time to myself." Says Yoongi.

"Yeah because that's totally not what you have been doing for the past few months." Jimin rolls his eyes.

"Guys I don't think now is the time to -" The unnamed man starts but Yoongi interrupts him.

"Look Jimin, this was all a fucking mistake. You and I both know that. But the real fucking mistake was that we ever got together." Yoongi says glaring at him.

"So now your just going to blame our past relationship because of something you did? This wasn't because of our relationship Yoongi. This is because of your god damned mistake!" Jimin starts yelling at the end.

"Don't act like you didn't do it too." Yoongi snaps back.

"I was comforting a fucking friend! You fucking went out and decided to become like all the other people in this world and cheat! You then had the fucking nerves to fucking turn me in and then turn your damn back on me and left! Without even saying a goodbye!" Jimin yells.

"Guys!" Yells Namjoon making the two turn to him. "Now is not the time to be reflecting on past mistakes."

"Not the best choice of words." The unnamed man mutters to him.

"Whatever it doesn't matter right now. W have to stay focused that thing could still be aft-" Namjoon starts.

A loud bang interrupts him from continuing the rest of his sentence. They all turn to see that Yoongi was no longer standing at the door. They quickly go to the door and open it. They scramble outside and just in time too. Yoongi is at the whole and is crawling through it.

"Yoongi you idiot get back here!" Says Jimin.

"I said I need some alone time." He says barely audible to them.

"If you go out there, you will be killed!" Says Namjoon.

"Good deal." Says Yoongi as he exits the hole.

"Yoongi!" Yells Jimin before quickly running towards the hole and crawling through.

"Get back here!" Yells Namjoon as him and the other one quickly run to the hole.

A roar is heard and then all of a sudden, something is blocking their view from seeing the other two. The wind starts to pick up and the sky becomes dark.

"Yoongi! Jimin!" Yells the two.

A scream is heard and then everything goes dark.

I'm sorry this took so long, I really wanted this chapter to be good and just like all the other ones it ended on a cliffhanger!! I really need to stop doing that.
