She is alive. Xaria is actually alive and standing in front of us. She isn't lying in a Helwyr dungeon half dead. Xaria looks to be thriving beautifully.

You would be able to hear a pin drop in the largest room in the world it is so quiet. Damari and I both turn to Radley to gauge his reaction.

"Is... is she alive." He stutters, the words barely audible.

"I love how the first thing that you say to me is about her, you little mummy's boy." She laughs at him. "She was last I knew. But that was eight months ago. She was on trial, along with your mother, Aerona."

My heart leaps at the mention of my mother but then sinks with the realisation of what Xaria is saying.

"What were they charged with?" I don't understand what crime they could have committed.

"Attempted murder of the chief Helwyr. Serial murder of countless Helwyr soldiers.  Planning and attempting to conduct genocide. The list is almost endless and I don't think I'll need to tell you the sentence if they are found guilty." Her voice trails at the end and Radley grabs her into a hug.

"How have you been? When did you escape? Did they hurt you?" Radley desperately tries to change the subject.

"Thorne found me in a cell after a meeting with the Helwyr leader. I was fourteen. He convinced them to release me into his care and I have been living with him till I turned seventeen and became a Dewin. After that I divided my time between training here and watching you and Rey grow up."

"Why did you wait till now to show yourself? You could have helped us fight. Our father died... Were you there? Did you stand there are watch? DID YOU FUCKING STAND THERE AND WATCH OUR FATHER DIE AND OUR BROTHER NEARLY DIE?"

He is trembling with rage, I lace my fingers through his and squeeze. I think we both know her answer. She runs a hand through her hair, her eyes flicking to Thorne.

"It was his time. Destiny forbade me to intervene..."

"BULLSHIT. YOU LITTLE BITCH.... HE'D STILL BE ALIVE IF IT WASNT FOR YOU." He turns his back to her and buries his head against my chest. I run my fingers through his hair, hoping to give him some comfort.

"Damari? Will you stay here a moment? I'm gonna take him outside." Damari looks horrified at the idea but with a look at his now sobbing cousin, he nods. I quickly pull  Radley into the lift and he falls to the floor.

"How could she Aero? He was our father? I don't understand. She was there... She could... Rey..." I sit down next to him, painfully aware that at any moment anyone could walk into the lift.

"She did what she believed to be right." I cannot find words to defend her actions. The thought that anyone could have stood by, watched us fight and not help, sickens me. Maybe being in a Helwyr prison messed with her morals. "When you are ready, we should go back. She is still your sister and those two seem to be the only ones who know where our parents are. We need them."

Radley sighs and rests his head against my shoulder. I lightly kiss his cheek, I can't imagine what he's going through. To have a sibling who could watch a parent die and not stop it must weigh heavy on your heart.  Not forgetting what happened to Rey too, we still don't know if he'll ever wake up.

"We need to get them back Aero. They've been gone for so long. I need her back." Plans are brewing in his mind, I can see them whirring past his eyes. "I can't go back up there. I need to gather my thoughts before seeing her again. I'll walk back to the hotel and meet you there."

After helping him to his feet, I plant a gentle kiss on his lips before the lift door closes. By the time I reach Thorne's apartment I have thought of a plan myself.

"Radley sends his apologies but he is feeling under the weather so has headed back to the hotel. Damari and I should probably head back too to check he his alright. Xaria, why don't you come with us so we can have a catch up?" Damari shoots me a quizzical look, he'll understand soon enough.

Xaria grabs her designer handbag, waggling it under my nose to make it blatantly evident Thorne has spared no expense in keeping her happy. She is first to reach the lift and stands in it with a hand on her hip, looking as if Damari and I

are inconveniencing her.

When we reach the car, Damari tosses me the keys with a grin. I finally get to drive the car! He climbs in shotgun and Xaria miserably sits in the back.

"So how have you been Xaria? Do you have a gorgeous Dewin guy locked away somewhere?" My voice is sickly sweet, as fake as the most popular girl in any secondary school.

"I am well thank you and sadly don't. What about you, Aerona?" Her voice is flat and sulky but my silence sparks her interest. "You do! Is it Damari? We always thought it would be Damari."

"No... its not Damari." My cheeks warm and with a quick glance at Damari I can see he is blushing too. Thoughts of events at the campsite are making us both uncomfortable.

"Oh. So who is it? Do I know them?" I sit in silence waiting for her to remember. "OH. MY. GOD. YOU ARE FUCKING MY BROTHER!"

Scarlet is the best description of the colour I can feel my cheeks burning with sheer horror. I am rendered speechless and the rest of the journey to the hotel happens in complete silence.

The hotel is dead, apart from the zombie dressed as a receptionist who is chewing on her pen.

"Stand in the corridor and make sure nobody comes in please? No matter the amount of screaming." I whisper into Damari's ear and he nods, casually leaning against the wall. Xaria walks into my room.

I shut the door behind us and lock it. Forcing air against Xaria, I slam her body into the wall. As I cross the room to her, I set my whole body on fire.

"I know you know where they are. I have an infinite amount of time to make you tell me where they are. We can do this nicely or not so nicely. The choice is yours." Her face twists into a smile

Twisting my hand, I draw all the air from her lungs, suffocating her. She flaps frantically till I let her breath again. Her expression curdles and she spits in my face.

"This will be fun." I smile, outstretching my burning hand and stroke her face. She screams in pain. The guilt is making me feel sick but she needs to know I'm serious.

"I don't know where they are. I swear." Tears begin to roll down her cheeks so I start to boil the water, making her cry out again.

"I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE." She screams again. This time I force the flames to spread from my body to hers, burning her bare arms and legs and setting fire to her clothes. I turn my back to her leaving her screaming and burning, before pulling the flames back to me.

"One last time Xaria. Where are they?" She hisses but her tears and the defeat in her eyes show she has lost. I boil her tears again.

"Stop... Stop. I'll tell you where they are."
